Just talking about Irish college in the Gaeltacht here and apparently you can get a 20%(?) discount if the student is a member of a GAA club.

It might be of use to someone:)
Was talking to a woman the other day and she will be sending her child to an irish primary school about 8 miles away. She works about 8 miles in the opposite direction(as a primary teacher) and local primary school is about half a mile away from were she lives. I think she's mad as there are no secondary irish schools around . Each to their own..........

I see a fair few parents sending their kids to the local town to the Irish secondary school to give their kids a better chance of going to college and a better chance of getting a job in the public service afterwards with fluent Irish.

Lad I was in school with got an E in pass Irish in Junior, he'd the option & opted out of Irish for leaving

Yea, seems the reason is mostly for teaching or similar public sector jobs. Travel as Whelan described is a big undertaking come bad weather etc but I suppose as you say - each to their own.

Our next door neighbor is sending their son to a secondary school of a particular religious denomination 25 miles away, I think the daily commute will be an 8 mile car journey and then onwards on a bus. All the other kids around, including my own go to the local Community School 4 miles away and the bus passes their front door.

Spoke with a woman the other day. Private bus goes to were her 2 kids are going will cost 60 Euro per week for them both. That's crazy money before lunch, uniform and books are paid for

Darling brother and sis in law dropped my 11yo nephew to my mothers for a weeks holidays with no clothes for second year in a row. So standing outside a changing room for last half hour. I parked the car, picked and fitted a wedding suit and had a pint in half that time. Young lads these days.

There's a very narrow fashion range that's considered acceptable these days...

I remember when Adidas Roms and white socks were the height of fashion:)

Had a couple to test here and rang vet about them a few days ago. Had them in since morning so didn't mind what time the vet came at, sent me a text before leaving the practice and all were up the crush and waiting for him when he arrived.
I'm too good to these vets, should leave them out the field next time and he can help me get them in :D

Coming through Carrick on Shannon today, l passed a sign for 'Breastcheck' that was on in The Bush Hotel.

I had a childish chuckle to myself!

I was thinking one could probably get their bush (if one had one) checked in one of the .......wait for it.....Breast Western hotels :D

You'll be lucky if it comes out the back end. If you had to pee it out you'd have a chip coming out of your battered sausage.
