Bad omens on a first date?

The first bad omen during courtship usually occurs in the Right of Akensi when consulting with the Wisdom of the Great Lady Branen and upon examining the entrails of the ritually exsanguinated minor animal of the Earth Pastures the heart is found to be blackened by the animal's eating of a twin in utero.

If you decide to ignore the divine warnings there's a good chance you'll always end up arguing over the remote.

Was on a first date and she spoke about wanting to have kids "in the near future" and "I don't see a reason to wait". At least she was honest, I suppose.

Is it normal to accompany a first date while she takes a dump?

Absolutely the best indication of a horrible person.

    Words to live by.

I was chatting to a guy at a party and we were getting along really well and he asked me out and I agreed, and shortly after he asked me how 'open-minded' I am...while licking his lips and doing little grunts.

Nearly had a widdle trying to suppress the laughter - and the horror for that matter. It was the grunts that did it.

Candie you really have to get working on that book.

When she lets slip that you bear a striking resemblance to her apparently beloved ex-boyfriend..........who is now dead.

Never did get to the bottom of HOW he died, but she called his name out in the sack fairly early in the relationship, and , surprisingly, it didn't last too long after that.

personal favourite was a guy who after we had ordered food asked did i have a boyfriend...

i assumed he was nervous and laughed it off, turned out he was a watcher...

gave me a serious dose of the creeps...

still texts me every so often asking how myself and my newish boyfriend are doing... used to send the occasional dick pic too... very very odd fish.

To be honest, being on your mobile unless its pretty urgent, during a first date is not a bad sign of things, its just plain rude.

+1000. I've got up and left a "date"* because of it.

Talking about exes is a bad un alright. Talking about settling down and babies is a major no no. You'd be surprised how often that happens if you're in your 30's or the women you're meeting are. The "fast track to suburbia" in the eyes is not a good look.

*I never really dated. I'm not a Yank. I prefer the old style hang out see how things go(thankfully still in play with some, though more a European thing). I do not like the imported Yank interview type shíte.

I met my husband when i was 19 so didn't really go on too many dates before that so can't think of any bad omen.

I do remember the awkwardness at the end though, if you had decided that you're not really into them but you still had a good laugh on the date.

I remember one lad leaning in to kiss me and I took a step back and then pat him on the back and said "well...this was a good night".

Thoughtless or mean spirited comments about other people's physical appearance, particularly weight.

For me the two most obvious ones are

    1. When she lets people pass between us or walks on the opposite side of street lights and other obstacles when we are walking down the street.

    2. She does not put her phone down when we are having a conversation.

For me these are a canary in the coalmine that she is not interested and I say a polite "Nice meeting you" and leave and go right back onto the dating app to see who else is interested. :D

What about you guys and girls?

When she says "I can smell your cheese from here".

For the past year at least, how well a date is going is inversely proportional to how much I talk about Jeremy Corbyn.

Arrange to meet, drive 40 km and they don't show up at all, send a text and no reply.

    That was my bad omen.

Someone who talks about former boyfriends,or girlfriends,
Someone who is rude to staff, someone who uses bad language ,
Someone who talks about politics or religion.
Someone who was married twice or more .
Someone who is badly dressed or has to go out for a smoke every 20 minutes .

The phone etiquette side of things would be an instant yay or nay from me.

That said - if she were to order shots on a lunchtime date I'd be asking questions too.
