Same me and the wife both told not to go in.

Stay safe everyone, especially any of you in the worst hit areas.

Roads empty, barely a whiff of wind. Day off is great but if it stays like this Met Eireann are gonna get a bit of a slagging!

    In Dublin?

That's entirely expected at this time, right? Its not supposed to come near us until lunch time.

But it'll be 50kmh winds at worst by all accounts. I'd say around here it'll be absolutely fine. Unless you live in a dinghy in the middle of the Irish sea.

Yeah, sitting here and kids are demanding to know where the storm is. There is barely a breeze!

    Fierce dark out mind.

Durnt mind whether it's calm now, my knee is strumming like a banjo on independence day. Sturms a cummin

Wait till about 3pm when it's at its height there.

Its eerily quite here in laois at the moment but I'm expecting madness from about 12 onwards.

Got no email from work, came in anyway. At last count theres about 9 people including myself on my floor. Traffic was great though, got in in about 25 mins. We should get a hurricane everyday. :D

Bit of a breeze here in Galway but I'd say it's actually calmer than it was for the Connacht Glasgow match

    50kmh?

Try 120 with gusts up to 150

And it's already borderline stormy by Irish standards.

100k houses without power and increasing. Looks like its the real deal. Hopefully it passes quickly and dies out the further it travels.

Clouds moving across the sky at a reasonably decent pace, but still no clear signs (in Dublin) of anything out of the ordinary yet.

South Dublin now very windy, noticeable increase in the last 30 minutes.

Few beers left over from the weekend. Might have a champions cup highlights power hour in the afternoon!

Just heard there is a decent chance of nationwide power outages and it could be days or weeks before it's back in parts. Plug in your phones and make sure they are fully charged.

Getting hit by the storm more likely

Just saw that Sean Hughes has passed away, 51 and a very witty acerbic comedian
