Okay folks, the draw for the semi-finals has been made and we have two truly heavyweight encounters on the way.
To reflect the fact that the stakes are higher, we are going to raise the quota to 5 votes needed to advance.
So without further ado, let's get the first semi-final up and running which is an epic DC vs Marvel clash...Superman
VS
Spider-Man
What a match-up to start with we have here. It's Clark Kent's alter ego, the Man of Steel, Superman, taking on Peter Parker's alter ego, New York's web-slinger, Spider-Man.
It's a battle of two of the most iconic characters of all time and it's over to you to determine which one of them should reach the final. First one to 5 votes takes the tie. Cast your votes now.'It is better to walk alone in the right direction than follow the herd walking in the wrong direction.'

Wow what was a fantastic tie. Superman raced into a 4-1 lead and seemed to be on the brink of a comfortable win, only for three straight votes to go to Spider-Man and level the tie. But it was Superman that secured the all-important vote that sees him soar into the final.
Now we come to the final semi-final which is another massive DC vs Marvel clash...Batman

Captain America
It's a battle of two of the oldest and most beloved superheroes as Gotham's Caped Crusader and Justice League member, Batman, faces off against the shield-throwing supersoldier and Avengers member, Captain America.
Will the Best Superhero tournament's champ, Batman, advance to make it an all-DC final, or has he finally met his match in the last-surviving Marvel hero, Captain America.

We began this tournament with 64 of the most impressive performers from our Best Superhero tournament and Best Supervillain tournament respectively, all doing battle to determine who would be our ultimate champion.
There were surprises along the way, and many big casualties. But we at last have our final two participants, and what a showdown it is: surely the two most iconic superheroes of all time clashing as Superman takes on Batman!
Some of you may recall that these two met in the Best Superhero tournament's quarter-finals, and on that occasion it was Batman that prevailed. It was a decision that led to some raised eyebrows from Superman fans, and left Batman fans defending the result.
Well now we will truly get to the bottom of how Boardsies feel about these two rivals!
As was the case with the previous tournaments, to ensure maximum participation, in this final we will have a 24 hour time limit for receiving votes. Simply put, the superhero with the most votes by this time tomorrow evening will be the winner!
(Note - if it's a tie after the time limit expires then I will do a Ceann Comhairle job and cast a vote to break the deadlock.)
