Anyone got a recommendation for a decent case without the superfluous top-end cut-out?

I've taken a punt on this yoke, having seen a positive write up on XDA - http://m.ebay.ie/itm/IMAK-Cowboy-Ultra-Thin-Frosted-Matte-Hard-Back-Cover-Case-For-HTC-10-One-M10-/201567492886?nav=SEARCH

Turns out NFC on my phone works fine but the leapcard app is not compatible, so it won't read my card.
Just as well I have my trusty M7 around to use.

got it to read mine. hold the card horizontally, level with the top of the phone at the back.

So an update on battery as today would be a typical day for me.
Took phone off charge 11hrs ago at 100%
Turned on powersave mode and upped brightness to Max.
Screen on time has been 2hrs 58mins
After 11hrs battery is at 28%

Am I just a heavy user? Nothing noticeable in terms of apps consuming power.

That's pretty bad. I'm noticing that sometimes my phone will sleep like a baby, losing no battery. Other times, it says it's always awake. Haven't figured what's causing it, but it's a common thing I've had with all androids.

I can't really gauge battery life, as I have it plugged into my laptop at work most of the day.

Best phone I've ever had, by a mile. My sausage fingers could do with a bigger fingerprint reader, and a shade more battery life would be nice. But otherwise, this is the droid I've been looking for.

Also when you are using auto type you don't get an automatic space come up. Not sure if you got that before (I turned off autotype on my m7 yonks ago) but it's a nice feature on my iPad

    It's in the settings

Tried every position possible. Read up on techadvisor that people are experiencing issues with some NFC tags and looking through the leapcard app reviews on the Playstore a lot of people with HTC phones appear to have problems.
Works perfect on M7 and M8 which has Marshmallow as well.

found mine temperamental on the M7. haven't tried yet on the 10

Has anyone experienced ads pushed as notifications on their phones? They don't seem to come from a particular app but from whatever it's installed by default. Could be some hidden Three bloatware?

edit: I just tried to use the Leap Card app, no issues at all.

Four possible sources I can think of...
    1. If you have Drive by Google Maps open it can put adds on the lock screen... but its unusual to have the lock screeen and Drive at the same time
    2. My Banking app decided to give me location based offers... I'd walk into a shop and get a discount offer pop open on my phone
    3. There is an option in Blinkfeed to turn off ad's... these are somtimes displayed on your lock screen
    4. ES File manager started adding ad's recently... theres been a mass migration away from the app. If you are using it, I suggest deleting it and downloading HTC File manager

Otherwise, you've got a nasty rogue app in there...

Just want to drop a quick thanks to Basil3. You guys on the Venom team do an amazing job. I've had every HTC flagship since the Desire HD, all running Viper. Your work with themes are the finishing touches on amazing ROMs.

Cheers mate. Over the years, google and HTC have made modding the devices more and more awkward, so not as enjoyable as it once was. Hopefully get something done this weekend, though.

    Something about sandwiches

Ye I'm working with some NFC tags in work. when I tried on me own phone, it didn't pick up the tag.
Is there some faults with the NFC hardware? I'll be going mad if there is!!!

How long is this a 3 exclusive? I have an upgrade due soon and I'm torn between this or waiting for the note 6

I used sim-unlock.net when the carrier won't unlock. I find them very reliable, even for iPhones.

Less than a tenner for the code and you will have it within 6 hours or a refund if they can't get one.

Has anyone had a HTC 10 unlocked successfully?

NFC not working for me on the Leap Card App

Battery has been decent. Much better than my old M7. Hasn't gotten hot on me either like my M7 used to just heat up for no apparent reason.

Leap card is the weirdest thing. I have to hold the card horizontally across the back of the device, sort of covering the camera. Any other way, and it won't detect it at all....but that way and it works every time.

Yeah Vodafone won't be getting it at all until they agree with HTC that they won't preload their network apps on it. Their loss.

I'm getting an OTA push from Vodafone to install their sh*tware. No thanks! Not sure how they're managing it.

I think it is coming from the sim

Tried using NFC tag on a Bluetooth headset, but had no joy with it. NFC issues are being reported elsewhere on the web.

I find mine frequently runs a bit warm. Not so bad as to get concerned, but am a bit surprised.

Just on the pc there and wanted to download an app. Onto the play store. It tells me this app is compatable with some of my devices............ one being my "Vodafone HTC HTC 10"

Bought this directly from HTC so somehow Vodafone have cone the play store into thinking the phone is a Vodafone product!

Playstore lists my phones under the carrier (Etisalat) too... My carrier doesn't try to shove ****e down my throat though...

anyone fone for the 129 euro deal on three - first six months 44.99 then 55 euro for remaining 18

im torn between just going for a sim only deal with my htc m8 or maybe going on contract again and selling mym8 to offset some of the cost of a new contract

Yeah, I think the playstore just picks up whatever carrier you are on.

However I always through the OTA's were only pushed by the network if you were running their firmware and had their sim. So what would happen if you had the phone unlocked and BTU firmware from sammobile installed. Would VF still push their updates ?

If you have an unlocked network free phone, your firmware gets pushed out by the manufacturer... You'll also get it much quicker...
