The advice there, see a solicitor, still applies. These are free http://www.flac.ie/help/centres/mayo/

There's no point in visiting a solicitor until she gets the summons. She'll be told to come back when she has it.

OP... could you not for the love of God make this easier and write things ONCE and in ONE post.
5 pages of mostly you talking..
Can you answer one simple question - from what date and time is the insurance you have in place RIGHT NOW valid from? If it was valid after you got stopped then good luck.
If it was valid before you got stopped then simply showing them should be enough.

EDIT: OP why did you mention in one thread that your insurance was cancelled and in this one that it was valid? Is this a pisstake?

Look Annmarie, your insurance was out for 9 days. You need to have insurance at all times if the car is being driven on a public road.

If you knocked down a pedestrian, there would be no insurance to cover their medical bills, and you could be sued in order to pay for it.

There is no way that the Gardai have forgotten about this, a summons is on the way, and you'll just have to wait.
