Go in to John Gunn and ask them. I think they have a guy who comes in as needed.

No, the OM40 isn't in the best shape so I wouldn't be bothered putting money into it.

I picked up a mint Pentax MX as a Christmas present to myself, was thinking of getting it looked over.

Note on repairs: I've sent a couple of cameras to the UK: seems to be more options there with the much bigger population. Miles Whitehead (mw camera repairs http://www.mwcamerarepairs.co.uk/) got my Canon F1n going again, and Jeff Fairbank, "Classic V http://classicv.co.uk/) got my Hasselblad back running. Both seem sound. My Hassy is actually in the post again, seems to have taken a liking to jamming :-(

That's some fine diy- the resulting camera doesn't look like it would produce such lovely soft portraits! It looks like it should be used to photograph Madmax-esque dystopias!
