There is no cheapest company I'm afraid. It's just a case of ringing around.
It will be astronomical though :(

You'll be singling yourself out for punishment on the insurance front with a lancer.

You will need to ring around, there's no single cheapest insurer, all depends on risk they profile you at. Normally sticking to a 1 litre for the first few years is a good idea.

Buy a micro/polo/fiesta/punto, pay 1 to 2k for a few years and get something else when you've a few years NCB.

You mean you hope to have it by then. I don't know how much insurance will cost you but it will be a lot more than the cost of the car.

Looks like you're looking forca car to show off "driving skills"

Boy racer type cars are heavily loaded by insurance companies - even with full licence expect quotes of 5k + for the type of car you are looking for.

You'll pay less than 2k for a bog standard fiesta.

Look, i know you're 18, but surely you could enter a few details on an insurance quote/ company site and see the price for yourself, or are you like many teens these days and need the hand held for everything?

Insurance companies are not dumb, they will not entertain an 18 year old that doesn't even hold a license on anything like that even if you had all the money in the world.
