I haven't sent an email or anything, but I don't get the 'get a grip' arguments. Why shouldn't people question decisions that go completely outside the rules?

    I agree

I'm still don't get the basis of that not being an assist
after 10 replays I still don't think he even touched it others do
but one things for sure if he did touch it he did not significantly alter the direction of the ball so it's an assist

Because it's just one of those things. Could be argued either way. You could say that the direction of the ball wasn't significantly changed. Assists aren't always gonna be clear cut.

Pretty sure that isn't how the rule works. I get that you really want an assist here but by the letter of the law it is not.

I don't really. And I don't think it was an assist. One of the guys here behind me in mini league has him captain :P but I just think these things are gonna happen over the course of the season you just gotta get on with it.

By the rules and their implementation it isn't an assist. I'm ok with one thing being an assist and not others but there has to be consistency.

basing it on this if it's correct
"If an opposing player touches the ball after the final pass before a goal is scored, significantly altering the intended destination of the ball, then no assist is awarded.

    Rebounds
If a shot on goal is blocked by an opposition player, is saved by a goalkeeper or hits the woodwork, and a goal is scored from the rebound, then an assist is awarded."

I believe the first sentence is more about, if a defender puts a lot in and slides it at 90 degrees to an on rushing defender. The second paragraph clearly states that a goalie blocking a shot does not mean the original shooter should granted an assist.

This was a cross, not a shot. See Adam Smith v Swansea.

If someone on Villa could dribble a shot at Fabianski for the save point.
    That'd be great

Dugout isn't giving the assist to Siggy so it will be one of FPL's judgment "intended target" "not significant deflection" decisions if it stands

It's pretty much the same thing, with the key difference being that Smith wasn't right beside the keeper like Fernandez was. I see nothing in the rules to account for a difference there. So they can't just be making it up as they go along. I've no problem with ones like that being an assist, but it has to be consistent.

    FT 1-0

    Stressful match to watch.
18 from Siggy(c) and Williams is ok.

35 from 5 if Rangel can hold onto his bonus point. My 3 defenders chipping in with 25 points today.

Willian 1 point the only negative.
