That's not an appropriate response to the point around three fights outside the division. When he was scheduled to fight against RDA, it would have been one fight. 8 months and two fights later can't be ignored "because it's the same fight".

Funny how this was announced 2 years to the day of UFC 178. Conor and Eddie both on the card. The thought of them fighting each other 2 years later for the LW title would have seemed farcical.

Agreed. I don't mind him getting it over Khabib, I think he's top class but he's barely fought. Tony Ferguson should have a title shot but he's booked to fight RDA. Conor could've fought Holloway, Pettis and rematched Aldo in the time he's been at lightweight. He should've been stripped by now but I've accepted that it's the McGregor show.

Unpopular opinion but I would prefer Conor v Aldo but that isn't where the money is so wasn't going to happen. If Conor wins this I would like to see him v Aldo at 155 if he doesn't want to make the cut. I really like Aldo as a fighter and don't think a second fight would go the same way.

Conor is very clearly not going back to 145, this has been clear for a long, long time, and I don't even know what outcome of the fight could force him to go back down. If he loses (which I don't think he will) he will just demand an immediate rematch, like he did with Diaz and the silly part is he will probably get it too!

When he wins he drops the 145 belt saying he will always own that division and they can put the fake belt on whoever they want until he decides he wants to take it back.

way I see this going from here, Conor beats eddie, finegles his way around dana/the ufc so he can hold/defend both belts simultaneously, pops back down to fight aldo, then the winner of ferguson/rda fights khabib to decide the next 155 title shot.

Edit: He's on very good form here, this is class! Eddie getting booed to fuck in NY of all places

Eddie is nowhere near as good with ground game as Mendez, nowhere near as good as BJJ as Diaz. Can't see anything other than a McGregor win (and I called Diaz winning the first fight and thought he'd take the second, so I was wrong about the second fight).

EDIT: McGregor fan here but I thought he wasn't going to take Diaz the first time and I understand he has a lot of limitations but still, truth has to be said.
