Test fitted a set of wheels I got a month or two back. Not sure whether to fit them or not... Need new tyres for both sets of wheels so need to decide which ones to get tyres for

Hi folks, after 9 years with my beloved Saxo she went to the scrapyard a few weeks ago, to be replaced by this OPC,
I love it so far, it had the dreaded M32 gearbox movement so it has been in for refurbished bearings already, but I expected the gearbox to give trouble as it had apparently never been changed and the car is at 125,000km, has an almost complete service history including a new turbo,
The alloys are in bits though, so they I will get them refurbished early next year hopefully,
    Averaging 25mpg so far!

Please let me know if that photo is too big!

The E36 touring looked nice anyway, as did the E30. They lost it by the time the E46 cam along IMO.

Can't agree enough regarding the wheels either, sorry :o

I'd love a set of those wheels for my E39 tbh

If we all liked the same thing the world would be a grey bland boring place.

They're savage rims IMO. The stretched tyres and offset don't do the look any favours though.

Shes got her nct next week. I've a set of 18" MV2s for that...once it's out of the NCT centre it's getting 20mm wheel spacers on the back and the gold wheels are being put back on.

Don't care. My car. I love the look.

Whats wrong with sorting them out today :pac: I should have said in my opinion those wheels don't look great. As somebody said its a matter of taste and everybody has a different view on things like that! The important thing is that you like em!

    I wasn't having a pop :P

I think they look great Hugh. Neighbour of mine has a copper gold set on his e36 Touring and they look the business.

His arse isn't as phaat as yours though!

If she gets washed before the end of the year she will be lucky :)

The just-been-rally'd look, I like it.... sometimes I find it quite satisfying to see a mucky rear end, shows the car is getting some use!

My neighbour drives his cars around like that, but keeps the number plates spotless.. :D

Likewise, its impossible to be motivated to keep them in clean especially in winter. Life kind of takes over too and car washing becomes less important I find.

The only time I see it in daylight is on Saturdays and Sundays. Need to give both cars a going over this weekend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

    Poor effort.
Washed every Friday, polished and waxed once a month or so.

We do, surrounds too but it would be an awful shame to change them at this stage.
The thought has come to mind to head over to the Belgard branch for fresh stickers and surrounds. :p

It looks like a nice unusual colour I don't think I have ever seen a micra that model with that colour must be a rare enough colour.
