Another big success for the A&A project? Just keep being disruptive and obnoxious, make the Christians disappear... cleansing at its finest.

    Did I make him leave?

You and a bunch of others. Yes definitely.

Really? Because the reason for leaving, as stated in their own post, was:
as mentioned mods, i think this will be last post on this as its getting silly now argueing with someone who flat out can deny the existance of god and yet believes the universe can only be 13.7 billion years old.

Nobody has said that the universe can only be 13.7 billion years old, and nobody said that a god cannot exist. So it looks more like they are leaving because they don't understand what they are talking about, they've misunderstood what everyone else is talking about, or they just want to leave and keep face.

Just because someone disappears off a thread in a strop it doesn't mean that the big bad atheists have run them off.

it raises the question though, should this forum be a 'safe space' for Christians to discuss their faith?
I think it should, but it's been asked before and the answer is, NO

I always assumed Christian faith was strong, indestructible!
Surely the comfort in knowing we are all wrong and Christians are correct and that you have the god on your side would keep you strong and not let the big bad non believers upset you?

Unless your faith is not that strong and you are unsure about it and the existence of God?

Also why all the leaving the thread and giving out about atheists questioning your belief in God, can you not just forgive the atheists and move on, its the Christian way eh, forgiveness?

Well I for one accept your forgiveness for not believing in the god and I look forward to seeing you in Heaven (if it exists)

So this thread should have gone:

'Bishop Ussher said the age of the universe was 6000 years'.
'what would he know he was a Protestant'
    'Ah yes, but God'
'Ok, that's agreed. Anyone going over to A&A? Nothing much doing here'

    MOD NOTE

Please stop with the complaining about posters who also post in A&A.

If you see posters (whomever they may be) causing trouble, then report the posts. Don't derail a thread.

    Thanks for your attention.

If you can read this, you're too close!

Not this again! Yes, you should be able to discuss your beliefs without risk of ridicule or belittlement, and I don't like it when people do that to others. You'll notice that I try to avoid criticising Christianity on this forum and when I did, after the topic was brought up by a Christian, I put a disclaimer at the top of my post. I don't say things like all Christians are silly or stupid or any of that nonsense.

But that does not mean that you should be able to spout off any ridiculous thing and nobody is allowed to challenge you on it. If someone says that the universe is 6000 years old, the person should never be ridiculed but the belief certainly can be, it flies directly in the face of everything we know about the real world and most Christians would agree.

You are claiming persecution because atheists dare to speak on topics that they might know a lot about, but when you cry out for the atheists to be banned from the Christianity forum you are asking a community of people to be censored because of their religious beliefs (or lack thereof)? A tad bit hypocritical?

no-one looks at the charters :pac:

I'm not looking to censor anyone, Atheists have a dedicated forum to post in. This thread should have been started in that forum (or not at all). I can't imagine something similar lasting too long in the Islam forum.

    MOD NOTE

Locking this thread as posters seem unable to keep to the topic.

If people wish to continue discussing Creationism, they can avail of the super-thread.
