Scotland are savage at the breakdown. No lost causes fighting for everything

Ah Hartley - you're the bloody captain for heaven's sake. You can't give the ref lip.

Come on Scotland. Need points here.

    Wasted opportunity.

That was good defence from England. But they should really be more than just one point in the lead.

Laidlaw taking an age at every ruck there. Fast service would have broken that English defence.

Ah, what happens when your best kicker is a 9 I suppose.

Seems today is drop kick resurrection day!

Scotland still their own worst enemy. Leaving some very valuable points out there.

They have the intensity and the skills but just need to finish it off.

Hardie has got them going forward when they need it, he's playing great

Scotland really should have gotten something at the end. The drop goal attempt was worse that Parisse's earlier.

They have that South African guy working with them now, don't they? Was Springboks breakdown coach for years.

He obviously chooses to delay his pass as long as he can ..... I don't get it.

    Typical Highlanders bias :D

This is a really absorbing game to watch, you get the feeling a bad mistake could be very costly.

Laidlaw could speed up a tad, but otherwise he is controlling the game nicely for Scotland.

I agree with you syd about the earlier game, these 2 sides look structured as compared to especially France.

Enjoyed Italy and France a lot more than this.

    Really?

Structured defence seemed fairly optional for that game.

I suppose this is more one for the purists rather than the occasional fan :p

It was entertaining, but both of these two sides look much better organised than France or Italy.

Fully expect England to push on in 2nd half.

    England by 17

Only half an hour gone but I can't say I notice anything different about England under Jones.

Clearly been working on their side entry at rucks.

Harsh enough on cole. Tight call but Gray was still involved in the tackle

    Englands indiscipline will cost them.

Bit of tempo from Scotland here

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,075 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Thought Farrell should slot that. England are making heavy weather of this.

  • Subscribers Posts: 41,122 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Scotland's disruption at the rucks had been excellent, England getting no quick ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,075 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    Good try, in fairness.

All the kickers today are having a bad day.

England well worth their lead, taking their chances when they come, Scotland same old story, doing nothing with loads of possession!
