Thomas Cook filed for insolvency this morning.. their last airborne flight will touchdown in Manchester in 15 minutes..

Anybody found any of the Thomas Cook repatriation flights on FR24 yet? They're operating under MH flight codes but I'd be interested to know what callsign they're using. Once again, the CAA becomes the UK's 5th biggest airline overnight.

Several Thomas Cook planes leased from Avion Express are flying now under Titan ZT/AWC

Presumably the Malaysian will be flying under the MH/MAS. Supposed to be heading to PMI this evening

It would be some craic if happened the weekend of the Hard Brexit and half them needed visas or something, Brexit, Airbnb, the strong pound and general DIY book your own holiday and internet research has destroyed the charter airline and tour holiday industry.

It positioned from New York to Manchester and was on its way to Orlando from Manchester. That seems a terrible waste for an empty aircraft to operate those 2 legs empty, was there a reason it couldn't have gone from New York to Orlando?

It operated JFK-MAN on Sunday night for Thomas Cook as TXC2849 was cancelled so wasn't empty. Then as there was no outbound to MCO yesterday, it had no choice but to operate empty to collect people in Orlando.

Not sure how the average punter would feel about showing up to find an MH waiting for them ;-)

It's a holding pattern, all aircraft are doing it into DUB at the moment. Daily occurrence.

I flew back from Stansted yesterday evening and we held off the Drogheda coast for about 20 minutes before starting our run in. An announcement was made inflight that the delays were as a result from poor weather earlier in the day.
