My mate has a P9 and I honestly think his camera takes better shots than my S7. I don't like the user interface on the P9 though so I'd much prefer the S7 in that regard. Fingerprint scanner is ok but I find it can misread a lot if you're hands are any bit dirty, I work with tractors so they're regularly dirty! Overall though still a great phone and not much I'd change about it.

Does anyone else hate the 4:3 format of the camera now? i know you can lower the resolution and have it full screen but its bugs the sh*t out of me haha.

Haha yeah I've never liked it. Thought there was something wrong with the settings at first!

Does anyone know when Vodafone are going to be pushing out Nougat for the S7 ? Would it be worth flashing latest BTU from Sammobile in the hope of getting it sooner.

    Thanks

Bought the lens case for the S7 from Samsung UK (via Parcel Motel) this morning. Any idea on how quick they are to ship? Any dealings with them?

My S7 Edge's battery life has gone to sh1t. Even when not using it, it drains incredibly quickly. Any way to diagnose or fix it?

Did you check your battery usage to see whats using the most?

Screen, Android system and Chrome. In that order. Can't understand why it drains so quickly when the screen isn't on though... I have to put it on Ultra Power Saving most of the time just to get it through the work day. I always have Power Saving on too.. can't understand it.

back up everything and do a fresh install is the easiest way to sort it out if it's a software thing

The Mrs went and got herself a regular S7. So much better than the edge and plenty big too.

What makes you feel the regular is better than the Edge?
I am getting a work phone and choice is S7 regular or Edge.
I am leaning towards the Edge as it's slightly bigger and might be better for reading emails etc.

I've been told by people with the edge that they'd prefer the standard 7. Not sure if it's the screen or the size or what.

It's the edge and not the size.
Size is perfect, I'd 90% would go for the flat over the edge if the flat was the same size

The battery is bigger in the edge, that was the main factor for me

You need a manbag to carry the edge, I found it to uncomfortable in trouser pocket whereas the S7 is just the right size for my use, easy enough reading emails, turn up your font size if your having trouble reading.

Ah no - now ye have me confused and doubting my choice. I will most likely have it in a case at all time so maybe the edge is usable but if its really finiky then I will go for the flat.
Is there lots of Edge apps /widgets etc that are useful?

Really? I guess my next phone will finally be something other than Samsung.

Edge screen is pointless and just a lame gimmick like 3D televisions.

I have the regular s7 but what I will say about the edge based on what I've heard on podcasts and whatever is that the implementation of the edge on the note 7 was apparently way better, so I would imagine it will be only a further improvement come s8 time.

Font size not the issue - I am finding it hard to read work email on a Nexus 4 (4.7 inch screen) so the larger screen estate will be great

If you can turn off edge panels then maybe thats the ideal scenario. Bigger screen, bigger battery nicer looking phone too

I've the S7 Edge, I don't have any issues touching the edge with my palm. I use a Spigen case which is perfectly slim enough for me. https://www.spigen.com/collections/galaxy-s7-edge/products/galaxy-s7-edge-case-neo-hybrid?variant=12164611969
I don't use the edge features very often but in terms of battery and screen size I think it's very good. The new Nougat update has given it a new lease of life, running much faster for me lately.

I have no case on my edge and don't have much trouble at all with the edge! Every single day I use the swipe out to open up the flashlight that has 5 level control for brightness on it.

What I have done is made the edge trigger size the smallest it can go, put it beside the power button, and made it totally transparent. I also have the flashlight/compass as my only edge panel so I just put my thumb on the power button and swipe left and it opens up. I find it very handy!

The edge lighting is also a nice thing.. I have my phone on fully silent most of the time so it's nice to be able to see notifications when it's face down

The battery is also 3600mAh.. I had 6 hours SOT yesterday with 30% battery left..!

...outside of my phone borking itself once every few weeks requiring a factory reset it's unreal

S7 flat is probably just as good but I wouldn't change over to it from the edge
