Got the s7 today from the s6.

For some reason, video quality only goes up to 1080p in the quality options but the exact same video on my s6 can go up to 1440p.

    What's the craic here?

    Bump!

Most videos will go to 1080p60fps when I know they're 4k resolution. The resolution option goes all the way up to 4k when I go into the same video on my s6 :(

Anyone else have problems with the touch sensitivity on the S7 edge? I find myself inadvertently clicking on links etc while scrolling. Very annoying.

I actually noticed the same on the s6 the amount of times I was scrolling through something and it would go onto a link. thought it was just me

Enjoying the two day battery life on the S7 Edge.

Charged at 8am yesterday and with plenty of usage (including 5 1/2 hours screen on time), there's still 23% left.

I've started to use the wireless charger I got for the S6 now, extremly handy on my desk in work and it seems to charge really quickly

Anyone know where I can get a genuine adaptive fast charger as I only have a two pin one having bought one from amazon italy?

UK Samsung store doesnt have one and I know I could use a travel adapter but they never are very good.

Not showing yet on my BTU-flashed S7 Edge anyway. Battery life isn't great though I don't think and that's despite relatively low usage.

Lads, when you say battery life is "not great", what sort of usage and battery stats are you seeing?

weird, you might get it in a few more days since it's relatively new but if you want to flash it, up available now

well form e i normally get 6-7hours screen on time which is i guess normal and it's not a terrible battery life

I bought mine on adverts supposedly unlocked but he arrived with an unlock code so it is now unlocked, I get the odd notification from Vodafone which is annoying though. Will flashing it remove the Vodafone crap making it an international firmware?

    Yes

I have the S7 from Eir and it was unlocked out of the box and no Eir bloatware or any Eir apps whatsoever. Not even an Eir boot screen. No texts from Eir either. Just the usual Samsung installed Facebook, office, one note, one drive and that's about it. All disabled now.

Any advantage in flashing the BTU firmware other than the possibility of more timely updates ? As far as I can see the BTU has about the same number of samsung apps.

Think I'm going to treat myself to this from Three over the next few days. Is there any special offer on getting the VR with it?

I'd recommend not going anywhere near three right now. Their network is in shambles due to their o2 takeover.

I normally had zero coverage issues at home but now I rarely even get anything but edge data and and randomly loose connection altogether.

Three aren't taking the issue seriously and are just giving the boiler plate response each time and aren't even trying to fix the issue.

Vodafone were doing a deal where you could get the Gear VR and Wireless charger for 69 euro on top of the price for the phone. I switched from 3 to Vodafone on to the 60 euro a month deal and got the phone for about 130 or 150 as they were giving something like a 100 off for switching over, traded in my old phone which paid for this and the Gear VR.

Their network is miles ahead in my experience so far, had a terrible experience with 3!

Absolutely stay well away from 3. Its a disgrace. They shouldn't be let advertise their 'All You Can Eat 20GB Data' which I'm on. Not possible to get 20GB through the phone with how bad and slow the network is. As someone who travels and relies on coverage for work the Three network isn't workable.

I've also lost faith in The Jelly Bean Factory.... listening to their Managing Director praising the Three Network on the radio ads.... It's total horse ****.

Can you talk to your credit card company to see if a charge back was possible. Seeing as they have the goods and are doing nothing with it. Or possibly the small claims court, seeing as repairs have to be carried out in a timely manner and they appear to be doing squat. http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/justice/courts_system/european_small_claims_procedure.html

Yeah I well believe it. It's ridiculous how bad the coverage is.

Another thing I find which happens far too often is when I set up the mobile hotspot and if the phone displays '4G', as soon as I connect a laptop it drops to nothing. Happens all the time! Very frustrating.

    Great phone though.

My work moved to Eir from Vodafone, and I believe Eir use the 3 network, it's hopeless as you say.

Do Eir not use the meteor network? since they own.

Picked a S7 up this morning. Very nice indeed! Is there a recommended case/cover that you guys agree on? Oooh and a nice dock for my bedside table would be great! :p

Otter box symmetry in red is €34.99 in most shops. Good drop protection. Stylish enough
