    I had a look at a 3.5L one in Lidl previously and it seems to be a bit on the small side?

    Sorry not a bargain but a rant.Anyone noticed they changed the formula for the freeway Coke Zero, the can is also now black with red lettering instead of red with black lettering as below.
    This is a shame because it tasted very very similar to Coke Zero. Now it tastes like cheap chemicals. I wonder did Coca-Cola ask them to change it.

    Wouldn't think so. Both Germans are full of copies, seal & roar bars 😁.

    I've noticed them changing stuff before though, same name slightly different packaging, different recipe, so not surprised you mentioning them. Not sure why exactly they do it.

    both 2 cola world leaders used the re-turn scheme to rebrand the cans with new barcode and most importantly jack-up the prices.

    the 2 competitors had same idea overnight - to reduce the 24 cans slab to 18 cans, since their research showed that customers are not willing to pay 20 euro for a slab of fizzy drinks- and hence decided to keep the old price but reduce the number of cans from 24 to 18, so the can from the biggest multipack will be around 1 euro ( deposit included) and a single can at the cornershop to be priced at 2 euro (deposit included)

    Lidl used the opportunity to change the cans design and add the new 're-turn' compliant barcode , but most likely is the same product inside ; rebranding is about giving the customer the impression he's getting a new product ( doesn't really need to be a new product; you can always add the words 'new great taste' to justify a few changes in the ingredients list, not because you wanted to improve the product, but you had to take off certain additives that are not allowed in industry, replace sugar with cheaper alternatives, etc )

    Thanks for this. Makes sense why they rebranded as had to add re-turn logo. But can assure you the end product tastes much much different. It’s far sweeter and doesn’t have that kick it used to have. Such a shame.
