Erm.... hmmm.... they should have used the Battlefield 1942 theme for the trailer?! Curse them! :P

This looks fantastic, in my opinion. I hope they produce a solid single-player campaign - they have a lot to draw upon. The Marne, the Somme, Ypres, Cambrai, Mesopotamia, even Brusilov's offensive in 1916 if they follow multiple characters on different fronts.

I think I will be buying this on release.

EDIT: If ever there was a reason to buy this game for the sake of buying it, it would be to demonstrate to DICE and Activision-Blizzard that gamers are tired of near-future warfare. I hope this breaks records in sales and it might make developers realise that they can save money by visiting history instead of dreaming up laser guns for the future.

Bravo DICE. I was fully sure they were going to follow CoD into the futuristic rubbish and instead they've tried something totally new. The use of Seven Nation Army for the trailer was a nice touch too.

Also....parachutes weren't really used much in WW1 (some cases they were - but not like later years) so that'll be interesting.

I would assume also that the Commander will be gone
