Its ownership % + captaincy %.

So for example if a player has 80% ownership and 30% captaincy then its 110% and if you only own the player them doing well has a negative effect on you relative to the top 10k if the player has 70% ownership and 25% captaincy then any points they get have a positive effect on you.

No it doesn't. For instance if 99% of the players own a player and 2% captain him it'd be "over 100%" as you put it but it isn't much of a negative.

Plus it completely ignores the impact of other players.
