Two last minute winning tries have hurt Ulster dearly today.

Yeah, but Ulster should still go through if they get a BP against Oyonnax. Would need yet more bad luck.

It was ridiculous, shoved back and stood still for at least 10 seconds then he calls "once", then they get another 10 seconds and he still doesn't call "use it".

It happens every game. The maul is too heavily stacked in the attackers favour

This is actually amazing. Racing are top of the French league.

9 wins, 3 losses. Points difference of +22, no bps (either winning or losing)

Meanwhile they have what 111 points difference in their Europeans group. They got twice as big a pd today than their whole t14 season so far.

Toulouse are equally odd. They are joint top of the league with Clermont and Racing yet they have been a shambles in Europe and are likely to finish bottom of the pool.

At what point does no bothering become match fixing? For a four time champion to just so overtly not give a **** is just...

Lots of citings this week. Most notably Chris Ashton cited and accused of making contact with Marshall's eyes.

Ryan Wilson cited for squeezing someone's testicles.

Clermont bloke cited for pushing the ref.

Could be a long rest period for Ashton and the Clermont guy.

Is that the lot or will there be more?

The Low End recommendation for Kolelishvilli is 24 weeks.

It was stupid, but it's not worth a 20 week ban.

Anyone got a link to the Ashton incident? Couldn't find one myself. Or at least when in the game it happened.

    Doesn't look good anyway.

You can see Marshall in a bad way after what he did and what he (Ashton) did doesn't make any sense

That looks shocking. He could be getting a fairly long holidy for that.

Thanks. That's worthy of a suspension. He could have grabbed Marshall in so many different ways but chooses to attack his head and rake his fingers across his face.

Can't believe the commentators were justifying it. If a French player had done that against an English club they would have been going nuts.

Doesn't look like a straight up gouge, just a brainless grab/rake of the general face area.

That's innocuous. If it was an Irish player in Ashton's position we would be saying he's stupid to go anywhere near the face and that's it. Bullsh*t to anyone who labels that gouging.

It's 100% gouging, he uses his eye socket to pull his head down to the ground. Marshall isnt the type to play act, he clearly gouged him, his eyes were red and watering and he required attention.

And not really directed at you but can we stop with the "if it was an Irish player..." line? If it was an Irish player I'd want the book thrown at him. I'm an adult (sometimes), I'm capable of making unbiased observations.

Infairness pretty everyone on boards was saying McFadden should have got a longer suspension for stamping on Nathan White

10 weeks out, ie Ashton misses the 6N.

    He can appeal

Of course, the question now needs to be asked about how Jerome Garces deemed an offence worthy of a 10 week ban to be only a penalty. I had almost got over his previous performance against Saracens. Almost.

Garces is probably the worst referee on the elite panel (and by the way, Clancy is on this panel).

Think you need remove TMO from your xmas card list as Garces said he couldnt see clearly on the big screen if it was or not.

He'll be seeing that a few times from his teammates.

Pity it didn't cost his team the game, but still.

If Leicster get a BP, it could mean that ulster don't have to go away to sarries. I know I'd rather go Welford Road.

Electric start from Leinster. Fitzgerald looking very sharp.

Bath leading Toulon, as it stands Toulon are pretty much out.

Toulon try through Habana, back in front. Come on, Bath, do the rugby world a favour.

Toulon seem to have nine lives this year, but they must go away from home in the quarters. Ulster now need a favour from 2 of Scarlets, Leicester and Exeter. Scarlets pitch doesn't look in a brilliant state which bodes well for denying Northampton the bonus.

2 tries for Northampton at this stage. 12-3 at half time.

Third try for Northampton, Scarlets playing terribly. 35 minutes for them to get a fourth try.
