    Edinburgh Rugby v Munster

    13 Will Helu
    12 Matt Scott
    11 Tom Brown
    10 Greig Tonks
    9 Sam Hidalgo-Clyne

    1 Alasdair Dickinson
    2 Ross Ford
    3 WP Nel
    4 Anton Bresler
    5 Alex Toolis
    6 Mike Coman (captain)
    7 Hamish Watson
    8 Cornell Du Preez

    Substitutes

    16 Neil Cochrane
    17 Rory Sutherland
    18 John Andress
    19 Roddy Grant
    20 Nasi Manu
    21 Sean Kennedy
    22 Andries Strauss
    23 Dougie Fife

Players not considered due to injury
Michael Allen (shoulder), Sam Beard (hip), Phil Burleigh (leg), Grant Gilchrist (groin), Stuart McInally (neck), Jade Te Riure (knee), Ben Toolis (elbow)

    Players not considered this week
    Fraser McKenzie, David Denton

A lot of talking points here!

    - No Sherry, Chisholm and Conway in the 23. Rotation or not selected?
    - Botha not in the 23 either but I saw a pic this week where he sat out training...
    - Earls at centre meaning Hurley is on the bench.
    - Zebo at 15
    - No Sean Doyle or Amorosino (although Amorosino probably rested after RWC)
    - No Bleyendaal again
    - That's a decent looking Edinburgh team. Du Preez is a handful anytime I've seen him, he missed most of last season through injury.
    - In the last two visits Munster have battered Edinburgh. Let's hope for the same again.

I've taken out Sky Sports so I'm delighted to see this is on BBC Alba.

Good to see Earls & Saili partner each other. Worrying that Tyler is still on the wounded list.

It's frustrating the way other Pro12 teams tell you why players have not been selected, but the Irish provinces don't.

Munster need to get Bleyendall fit; if anything happens to Keatley, they're in serious trouble.

Not a bad Embra team, could be a tough assignment.

I saw bleyendaal heading in to CIT during the week, don't know whether he was training or not.
Hes a better 10 than keatley, I was hoping he'd have gotten ahead of him in time for Europe.

Munster desperately need him back. We don't want a situation where Rory Scannell (who is still in the academy) needs to come on at Stade Francais.

Harahan on as a sub for his first game in Northampton jersey. Has a nightmare.
Kicks being Charged down, dropping balls

Only thing is he scored a penalty which gave them a losing bonus point.

    That's a lovely Munster Jersey!

Nice to see ROM starting. He had a great run of form last season and will have to have a good game to keep Conway out who's been very busy in every game he's played in - always looking to get involved.

They have huge pace in that back line with Earls, VDH, Zebo and ROM all starting. Hope we get to see them unleash some of it tonight even though it'll still be a bit slippy from the rain earlier.

They have a strong team out - quietly optimistic :)

Must be some confusion with Munster wearing black and Edinburgh wearing a weird Jersey featuring a bit of red...

    Good start anyway.

    Really like our jersey too.

John Ryan try against the post. Pretty easy.

Nice to see Ryan score and show some physical power to do so, have to admit I thought his career was in doubt a year or so ago

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,551 ✭✭✭Goldstein

I think VDH had time to choose not to hit him, silly.

Not much GVDH could do there, the player jumped into him and he couldn't pull out

  • Registered Users Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

A bit headless from GVDH. Always a yellow these days for that.

Edit: Unlucky maybe to be a bit late to the ball.

Whats he meant to do? Make himself invisible, your man jumped at him!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,536 ✭✭✭case885

Poor John Ryan got minced there, Edinburgh seem to get a better shove on in the scrum.

He did tackle him though. He had time to back out of it

Not a hope, he was running full tilt, he put the brakes on, that's all he could do

Unlucky from jack again. He was rolling away from the tackle the correct way.

He put his hands up, its a reflex reaction, it wasn't an attempt at a tackle
