    Cheers D, see you there.

Thanks A, how's rehab coming along.

I'm ok thanks. Was in awful pain last week but doing much better this week. Still trying to focus on walking without limping. More physio exercises and still seeing him weekly. I'm now 7 weeks post-op. I can cycle gently outdoors. Was told that on Tuesday so went for a little spin. Was so afraid and pain not only in my knee but arse, so much for muscle memory :P.

It's still feels tight going downstairs but I can swim gently which is lovely. Hips, back, abs, pelvis all seem tight and sore. Took me weeks to straighten leg so think I have that now. Knee bend I'm over 120 degrees which is good but I seem to be behind the recommended schedule.

Have a build-up of scar tissue I'm supposed to be working out so I'm grand really. I certainly can't rush anywhere these days. Confidence is coming back but still protect the knee and myself in crowds for fear of a jolt.

Noticed bit tightness in right glute from couple days limping, watch out for good
side as well, as think over compensating can cause bit of bother, it's a hard road
but will be well worth it. Keep up the good work:)

Still bit tight, but have managed 3 X 30 single leg raises on it, sore but manageable, have been doing 2-3 times a day with plenty stretching
aggravated Achilles though so have to do eccentric heal drops as well,
Will be good to go Monday. Gill doing loads of good pre marathon food
so will probably be packing some extra pounds as well:D

    Monday 6th June

Cork City Marathon 18 miles DNF

Arrived in Cork on Sunday Afternoon courtesy of Ferris B who gave me a Lift met up with Murph D and AnnaP
and Mrs Ferris and kids who where down supporting, we all had dinner in nice Italian, Ferris had foresight to
book. Dinner over early enough nice pleasant evening everyone in good humour.

Nice and early to bed about 10.30, woke about 2 am and drifted off for few hours before getting up at 6.15
had good stretch and taped up before meeting Ferris for breakfast at 6.55, bowel of porridge with some honey
    and slice of toast.

popped nun tablet into 200mls of water and drank on way to start line, where myself and Ferris met up with Murp &
Anna before the off, Anna was running half so made her way to 1 mile marker after some good lucks to give us a cheer
and Murph introduced me to 3.30 pacers and we all got into our start positions.

mile 1-5 plan was to stay with slower of two pacers as advised by murph, so duly settled in for the ride pretty much
switch brain off and wasn't worrying about hitting times, was getting a lot of feed back from Achilles and calf after mile
or so especially on any uphill sections, but tried to ignore as much as possible, had planned to take Gel every 5 miles
so first gel taken with sip of water.

    splits 7.53, 7.54 ,7.55,7.48,7.52,

mile 6-10 was struggling a more with Calf and Achilles, but persuaded myself it would all settle down once we hit a bit
of flat, but to be honest felt like we where constantly hitting hills, was getting really warm and agitated with pain so
instead of drinking water I was just throwing over my head and pouring down back of leg, not to sure what I though
throwing water on back off leg would achieve. we had built up about 30 sec so took bit handier through Jack lynch tunnel
but climb out felt really punishing, but told myself s in training so get on with it. took another gel at 10 miles and again
only sip of water to get it down water over head again and down back off leg.

    splits 7.47,7.54,8.17,7.59,7.45

miles 11-15 really feeling crap by mile 11 and working to hard and first thoughts of DNF entered head, but persuaded
myself to give till half way, lost pacers all together in these miles along with a lot of others, tried a few times to pick
it up but was pretty fooked, left leg had called it a day and started to use Back a lot more on hillier sections so back
started to complain and was not running with any form what so ever, but hit half way with 1.45xx on clock so fooled
    myself for a while longer.

    splits 7.57, 8.08, 8.08,8.25, 8.10

mile 16-18 started to go down rapidly here, we met up with half around here somewhere and pain starting to get unbearable
stopped to stretch and started to run again but was on survival mode, did the old have been expecting you routine but head
was going really going to try that now. from here I started to count up to 100 over and over and promising myself one more
mile, I remember few people asking me if I was ok in these miles so must have been a complete mess and cant remember
massive amount about these except that seemed unending, took another gel without water, as just picked up a sponge and
    no water along here.
    Splits 9.37,9.25,9.25
collapsed I have been told and a runner called paramedics, remember lying on gurney and feeling like whole body was
shutting down little by little and thinking oh fook what an end in back of an ambulance in cork, paramedic was saying
don't go asleep, I was thinking no way I was closing my eyes, so they went trough every thing and core temp had risen
to over 41 degrees so they explained body was diverting all resources to vital organs so that was why I was feeling, got to medical centre and was put on Ice and also got line of cold fluids into me and
Every thing started to feel much better, met up with C in hotel and latter with Anna, Murph and MrsC
Who gave me a lift home, so thanks to you all for concern and making all seem a lot better.

Lots I did wrong yesterday, but main thing I think was not really getting enough water and to many
gels, I trew up gels so wasn't even digesting them, so have to give good think about where I go
from here. Achilles is bruised and swollen and calf as bad as ever so will work on getting them right
first and see where head is at then.
