The card slot on this can either take two SIM cards or a SIM and SD card. There's a few little cutbacks, no NFC which would not be an issue for most and only wireless "n", no "ac". Other than that it's cracking value

No fast charging or USB-C. Finger print readers are the new "cool" feature on phones, and its missing that too. That said, everything its missing are things that dont really bother me.


Selling points for me:

• Its not a phablet - OP2 was tempting, but just too big
• 3GB ram
• Price
• FM radio
• Looks sleek

Well if anyone gets an invite and they don't want to buy the phone let me know and I can purchase it. I've put my name on the list (as i done with the opo & opt) but knowing my luck il'll never get it unless some good samaritan can help. Looks a great phone, glad they made a smaller one.

The invites are non transferable, tied to the email they're sent to. There will be open days, keep an eye out

thanks, i guess any alternative would be too complicated where i can forward payment. il just be patient and wait

I'd definitely consider this phone however its a real shame that they didn't include the fingerprint scanner.

Invites are non sharable at the moment!

Does anyone know how the one plus x will work on the three network. Are the bands compatible? I've read that three don't support the 850 band which is used in rural areas, the 900 band it three's lowest band.

Standard enough with the duel sim phones, no? There's two slots, you can have two sims or a sim and an SD which most people will do.

How did you get an invite already? Surely everyone can just apply now and get a 24 hour opening to purchase when their invite gets called.

I got the same about an hour ago, first I heard of it was the invite to buy it. Still waiting on my OPT invite and all.

My OPO is starting to fail me so very tempted by this. Has the two things I hate most about the OPO as well, no SD and the size!

We spoke to Geekbuying this morning, a Chinese site that imports phones to the UK, and which already has stocks of the 16GB storage, 3GB RAM, white and gold model. It's selling this version for £193.10 with free shipping, but note that you may have to pay import duty on top of this price (also see our grey-market tech buying advice).

Ditto that. And I'll reiterate my earlier request for consideration for any sharable invites when people have bought.

Probably unlikely, but I wonder will they have any to give out for the Web Summit?
