    Other men's nipples.

Seeing more and more of these on the gym floor in recent months. Chiefly caused by tank tops/vest that have a very narrow strip of material going over the shoulder from front of body to back.

The last thing I want to see when I'm slogging it out on the cross trainers is another mans big pinky-red erect nipples peaking out couple of minutes.

Claiming ownership of an entire set of weights is much more annoying that somebody talking a plate off a rack/tree that you wanted to use after.

    Completely agree.

Only exception I reckon is if two people are alternating using a rack and switching weights between sets, just makes sense to ask in that situation (and people almost always do in fairness).

On the subject of hats/caps which seems to grind a lot of people's gears in here :) saw a guys in my gym earlier this week (very strong guy if it makes a difference) going through all his legs routine then when it comes time to do some benching gets his warmups done then slips on a baseball cap backwards for his work sets. Thought it was funny myself. Witnessed another guys this morning that also had me thinking of this thread is the cap more annoying if it's a sideways snapback they are wearing?? :)

So the other day I was benching and someone was adjusting plates on a machine beside me, bent over and knocked off my barbell! It was my first set and I was just using an empty bar so I could still control it, but if that had been any way heavy he still would have hit me and it could have been a lot worse! Rarrr

Probably the creepiest thing I've seen in the gym happened a few months back. A girl was hanging from a pull-up bar doing some sort of exercise bar and across the room there was a lad just watching her. After a few seconds of watching he just started nodding his head almost as if to say "Yes, yes I would".

I screamed "watch out!" in this country's language and he replied "sorryyyy" in English with a strange accent so he is neither from here nor a native English speaker and just smiled at me. Maybe he's from another planet where it's okay to do that to people.

I've taken to putting cable machine attachments as far as possible away from where I'm working out when I'm finished using them as invariably someone will ask me if I'm using it mid set on my next exercise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,921 ✭✭✭✭Dtp1979

So annoying when someone moves all the attachments for the cable machines when they're finished their workout. I usually have to go ask them where did they leave the bits. I mean, why the fcuk do that in the first place

People wearing a belt for curls annoys me no end

There is a lad in my gym in work who wears a belt for every exercise and looesly at that..I've only ever seen him use machines and never lift any dumbell let alone a barbell..more trivial annoying but annoying to me all the same

Decided to to look through posts on Instagram that tagged my gym. Found a post where a woman took a photo of one side of the barbell which had five 5KG plates rather than one 25KG plate. WTF?

Couple of months back saw some fella get off the bus with a gear bag on his back yet he still carried his belt in hand. We get it bro, you lift.

Guy in my gym does shadow boxing after every set. Cant believe my eyes, the gym does terrible things to people

A gym I used to be a member of had a prowler. There were a few people who would insist on doing their stretches & ab sets in the path of the prowler meaning that no-one could use it while they were there. They wouldn't move if asked either. It wasn't a case of these gym-goers being stuck for space to do their floor routines, they were just that inconsiderate.

I picked up a shadow on Saturday morning.
It was really early (for a weekend) as I wanted to get in and out before the Lions game.
It's a 24/7 gym so fully aware there might be some strange folk out of hours.

Now I don't lift anything mad at all, but I'm happy where I'm at. Few folk were on the cardio machines and one guy in the free weights. I can't remember what he was doing, I think it was a pelvic bridge lift off the bench, so I sat down and started my dumbbell bench press. Stop for a rest, he starts doing his first set. Didn't think anything of it then, but as it went on I noticed he'd just do the exact same.

Didn't pi55 me off or anything initially, but found it a tad strange knowing you were being watched. I threw something in the middle of the sets to see if he definitely was copying me, so as part of an upper body block I started some straight leg deadlifts with the dumbells. He copied that too.

I don't lift anything mad so not sure where it all came from. Must be my handsome face*

    *according to my Mam.

Well, a few years ago there was a guy in the gym I went to that would practice...Kendo, I kid you not. Imagine your average, packed gym on a monday night - and there he'd be, with his stick (I believe it's called a "Shinai", I'm no expert) going through his moves. He was very careful not to to swing somebody's head off, but still - hardly what you want to practice in a crowded room...at least, he didn't wear the full outfit.

What boils my p1ss are groups of "gym buddies" hogging machines forever; It's usually packs of 3-4 teenagers more intent in horsing around than exercising, while everyone else waits.

A few years ago, there was a guy in Raw wearing a gas mask and wrestling a punch bag.

It was a sight to behold. I don't think anyone didn't pinch themselves when it was all over.

So instead of adding the 5kgs you want her to
Take off the 5kg put on the 10kg
Take off the 10kg put on the 15 kg
Take off the 15kg put on the 20kg
Take off the 20kg put on the 25kg

The 25kg plate might be half her bodyweight, not fun carrying half your bodyweight around the gym

Also, she may not have been able to find two matching 25kg plates :eek::eek:

    Annoying gym thread behavior.

Telling other people why they shouldn't be annoyed.
