Ah yes.... Alleged hysteria. I assume you are one of those who reckon covid19 isn't at all that serious and we should all behave normally and fnck the elderly and immuno compromised.... Let them look after themselves and let the hospitals be overrun. Ah yes.....

No outbursts now fin... We don't want a repeat of your last episode.

I’m not, I don’t want to get Covid either but can’t live like this either. I was actually offered to go to a house gathering on Saturday but I declined as it’s the one thing I’m not comfortable doing but I will meet my friends on a One to one basis. The government should focus on the nursing homes to keep the elderly safe.

In fairness you couldnt call it the toughest lockdown in europe not by a long shot apologies for derailing the thread but that park should possibly be segregated from electric.

can this move to the coronavirus thread? I don't go in there for a reason and seeing it in this thread instead is annoying

If the mods could move it apologies again.

Ernest was involved for 6-12 months when it first opened. Hasn’t had anything too do with their in along time. Your very picky in the bars your mentioning especially as secret garden was one allegedly flouting rules also and opened for take away at the moment but escapes your watchfull all seeing eye.

No it’s not incredibly simple. people have suffered through the toughest lockdown in the whole of Europe once already and will not do so a second or third time. People are not sheep. Lockdown 1 happened. We followed it. We were thanked and told now we’re going too learn too live along side it. Cases spiked for many reasons. But the average joe soap now can’t meet friends, have a pint, play a match, go to the gym etc which all may have been a factor but other factors such as international travel, poor working conditions, lack of screening for workers coming in from abroad etc are all as you were. If they were serious about this a lot more could be done but they won’t

This is here with us till we have a vaccine and no amount of hand washing and hiding in home will expedite that.

I wasn't aware of secret garden flouting the rules.

People will largely do as they are fooking told to do.

I said alleged too have broken them. Not that they did. Please read posts clearly before replying and putting words in people’s mouths on a topic of this serious nature. It was well documented on here in the same threads you claim to have read about an brog in and it also made the Neil Prendevilles show.

And no people will not largely do as they are told too. It’s evident all over the place since the beginning of lockdown 2

Yes, it's been an unofficial Electric beer garden for a while.

The streets must be awash in piss and shyte as presumably the bar toilets aren't open there's hardly any public toilets to speak of.

Alright folks there's a forum for discussion of COVID stuff.
Can you also refrain from naming private individuals too, thanks

Hardly the toughest lockdown in the whole of Europe. People in Spain couldn't leave their house for 6 weeks only for very necessary trips. There were no coffee shops open or take away pints either. Cork is busy, that's hardly a lockdown. Lockdown in Ireland is probably a level 3 in other European countries.

Anyways, new pizza gaff on George's Quay www.quaypizza.ie

I've noticed the queuing on the straight road for the coffee Dock that opened there (the one that used be on commons Road) is getting longer and longer. Could do with some traffic management, its a pain if you're heading away from county hall and there's 10 cars just stopped in the lane because they want coffee...

Obviously they're doing good business, and good for them. But still...

What annoys me is that the person involved in electric was up on linkedin a few months back taking the piss out of COVID with his staff in zorbing balls to "socially distance" in Sober lane in a skit video. Then a crocodile tears video a few weeks later on linkedin that Sober lane had to close due to a cluster between staff and customers hoping to open a week later (clearly it was a bit longer). Now selling take away pints and everyone handing around outside electric that he is also involved in. Yes it is not their fault where someone goes after they but a take away pint but they certainly didn't treat COVID with respect with the zorbing video on linkedin. Won't darken the door of these establishments in future.

People so helpless they can't make their own. I don't know why people bother waiting an eternity for these things and not try elsewhere.

The shop was flooded a few weeks ago and they closed for refurbishment before lockdown. They are due to reopen

Do Guiness do cafés or restaurants?

    "their long"?

Does it seem weird that all that work is happening in Finns Corner when they just applied for planning? Could this be a pop up in the meantime or is it likely to be the actual works starting?

Time is money, it not unusual to start while waiting for planning to be approved.

I suspect that they are making changes that are outside of planning as the whole planning request is a major piece of work including a 5th floor.

    Certainly rules out Easons

"Permission for the following alterations to existing building, namely; Change of use of ground floor and first floor from retail use to part café or restaurant use and part residential access use, change of use of second, third and fourth floors from storage and office use to residential use, namely; 3 no. 1-bedroom apartments and 3 no. studio apartments, construction of new fifth floor roof level two-bedroom apartment including new roof design, providing a total of 7 no. apartments, along with alterations on all building elevations including new residential access and altered commercial ground floor access on Grand Parade."

I think its a great idea, more eateries on our main st is the future now instead of watching empty retail units after 12 months.
