Is it just me or is anyone getting the same issue as me on this thread.

I try to go to page 190 but it keeps going to the first page.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057481488&page=191

Its going to page 178 for me- and then I can flick on to page 190........ (its not pulling up page 191- its instead presenting 178- not the first page).

Bit strange- but not a major issue.

Well are the powers that be monitoring this or just ignoring it hoping we'll go away?

Sorry if this has been brought up already, but i got a few emails from other fora that are using vbulletin saying that there was an exploit of VB back in January, ill give you the gist of the email I got:
As I am sure you are all aware, we run vBulletin, an off-the-shelf forum package, which we get notified on when to update.

We have just been made aware of a security leak that occurred in January this year due to a series of vulnerabilities in vB, some of which have been of a high severity over the past few months. We have been patching these, but as a high-traffic site there’s always an increased risk, and we want to protect all users and admins the best we can.

We want to be transparent with you - the only information which we believe the attack could have taken is email, username, IP, and salted/hashed password. However, whilst the vB passwords are salted and hashed, and are safely stored, they can, if gathered, be broken to reveal the password in plaintext. This is all the more likely when you are using common, short or simple passwords, so we highly recommend users choose strong passwords.

As such, we are urging all users to immediately change their bit-tech forum password. We will not be forcing you to do this, as it causes all sorts of headaches with users who no longer have access to the email address they signed up with, but if you do not change your password you are putting your account at risk.

Please be vigilant against fake/phishing emails going forwards; we rarely email people on the forums and we would never ask for your username or password. If you are not sure if the email is genuine, please, of course, double check.

We want to apologise for any inconvenience caused, but we wanted to notify you as soon as information has come to light in order to protect you.

The forums are fully patched and secure per vBulletin’s guidelines, and all admins and moderators have been forced to change their passwords too. We are keeping an eye on things as well.

Is the legacy site affected by this, should we consider changing our passwords?

I don't know about "powers that be" but the team are monitoring the thread and looking into issues reported, yes.

Hi Vicxas, thanks for the heads up.

We are using a customised (and very old) version of vBulletin 3.8.7 and they are on version 5.2 at the moment so it is difficult to tell whether we are affected or not.
There is a list of known vBulletin vulnerabilities here https://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list/vendor_id-8142/Vbulletin.html.

The one from June seems to be the most like the mail description as it allows SQL Injection, and seems to be related to this vBulletin announcement: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum/vbulletin-announcements/vbulletin-announcements_aa/4345175-security-update-for-vbulletin-4.

All in all, this only affects vBulletin 4 prior to 4.2.2 so it seems unlikely that we were affected.
However, is there any chance you could confirm that the security issue you got by email matches the one described above so that we can be completely sure?
    Thanks

also what are people talking about page 190, it only goes up to 170 currently for me...

The whole thing is getting pretty tedious at this stage, what exactly is going on to cause this, no other website I use has ever had such long running issues that boards has had in the last 6 months+

    Hi,

Firstly apologies for the problems you've been experiencing of late - we implemented some pretty major changes to our hardware setup last week and following that a few unforeseen issues have arisen. The intermittent 500 errors that some of you were reporting it seems was down to one of our boxes not handing the request queue properly, so we've taken some steps to alleviate that. If you do receive any more unexpected 500 errors, please do post here and let us know as there may be some further fettling required.

    Ronan

Page 2 of After Hours has been refusing to load for me.
It's just refreshing page 1 when I click.

Any simple fixes I can try?
