Don't know what that means exactly but pretty sure our line needs one.
If it is ftth that your area is getting then it would be very unlikely that a cabinet is required as they don't use cabinets for ftth.

I've been reliably informed on here that the run enclosed in the brain shaped black line is fed from the new cabinet.

    Please excuse artwork.

The blue lines run from your local exchange no matter the distance, spare fibre optic cable from the exchange is already available under VDSL enabled roadside cabs (20 fibres) for future FTTH lines, these bypass the cabinets.

The fibre starts at the exchange and run to the planned cab, neither the blue lines or the green core fibre lines to the exchange are displayed in the military area, I presume for obvious reasons.

Jaysus Gonzo it could be worse...you could be in an NBP area. You'll have your ftth soon enough, probably just as we're getting VDSL to last us the next decade.

hopefully! they could start here any day any time, they could easily show up next week or the week after.

I'll be posting plenty of pics here if they do!

I'm hoping that's the reason there is no blue lines. I'm in the bottom left of that screenshot.

Tara Exchange update - KNN were working on blue-line poles in Kiltale on the Kiltale-Dunsany Road yesterday evening, looks like there was other work done closer to Dunsany as well.

I would suspect that the same teams will spend the next while working between the Dunshaughlin, Batterstown, Ratoath, Ashbourne and Tara exchanges since they are all beside each other.

Can someone tell me what the difference is between

    https://www.eir.ie/broadband/coverage-map/
    and
    http://fibrerollout.ie/where-and-when/

On the 1st link, my town is not even mentioned, but on the "Where and When" link it's showing FTTH rolling out in H2 2017.

First is eir retail, a poor mimic. Second is OpenEir who actually do the rollout and know what's happening.

OK thanks. So no joined up thinking or planning here!!!!

I've been using the where and when rollout map, but an Eir representative pointed me a the other link which I never saw before. I was asking them when it would be rolled out in my area and the response I kept getting was "currently you cannot get broadband with the number you have provided". Really helpful info!

I bet they took one look at you back when they were installing that box on the pole way back, and put you to get fibre paddy last..:P

that's what it feels like! also my number is no longer showing the Fiber Extreme eligibility message and Eircode checker, It's just back to the standard 'fiber is not available on your line yet' style message, yet all the neighbours lines still have the message and eircode checker.

Im not too concerned by the missing message as it's only a placeholder message, not the real test. The blue line runs past my house with another 2 premises after mine and that's the end of the line and the road. At same time i'd rather it didn't happen.

What site are you checking on these days that have been showing changing information?

    Yeah that doesn't bode well.

Where can you put in the eircode?

    Go to https://www.eir.ie/broadband
Enter a number that is in an enabled exchange area e.g 046 9487894 (Athboy Community School). Press check.
You should then get the Eircode checker.

But then it says that the max speed is 20Mb, what is the story with that?

What Eircode did you enter? If it was the school's 20Mb would be correct as it is not FTTH enabled. You could enter any Eircode in the Athboy area you wanted. It does not seem to be tied to the original phone number entered. I posted a map a few days ago of a section of the blue line in Athboy with enabled premises. I'm not sure if I should post people's Eircodes in a public forum.

All wired up and ready to roll in Rahan, Co. Offaly. Fibre wiring ends exactly at end of blue line leaving 4 - 6 houses without fibre.

I entered the one for the school and it said 20Mb, then tried a house from your map on the previous page and it was one that was 1000Mb. It would be interesting to see how they would bring in the fibre to the house I was looking at. Their doesn't seem to be any poles along the rural road to the house, I assume if they have underground duct for existing phoneline then it will follow that if not blocked.

That's a beautiful sight and very bad news for those few houses

It is surprising the amount of ducting they have even in relatively rural areas. As you say hopefully it is clear.

I hope it's just some error. I checked my line on Sunday afternoon and that was the first time I saw the message and the eircode system, then posted about it here.

Then on Sunday night I checked again and noticed it was gone and in its place was one of those generic images showing people in their homes using the internet and the text above it saying something like 'fiber is in your area but hasn't reached your address yet'.

Then before going to bed Sunday night, the message was back with eircode system.

Then since Monday morning it's gone altogether. My neighbours numbers still has it. The blue lines runs past my house and stops at the end of the road 2 houses away which is only really a distance of about 100 meters.

I'm not overly concerned untill the lads eventually make their way to wire up the road.

the 2 houses at the end of the line past my house still have the message, this has to be an error!

It was due to but the map has not been updated and there have been no updates on Techbytes since the 30th of September so it may have been delayed.

That suck for those 4-6 houses I would be gutted if my neighbor had 1GB broadband hopefully there no more delays with the NBP.
