Of course it's bangernomics! Looks like it's had a rough life, but these cars are tough enough. The 2l are all 4WD, aren't they? Never a bad thing when winter is coming. I'd haggle real hard, maybe put in a low ball €1500 offer or lower if it needs the belt doing soon

Idk which car I would prefer. The BMW definitely would give an impression that it cost a lot more than it actually did, if thats what you are after but the Saab has a certain suave sophistication to it and would probably appeal more so to someone who dgaf about what others may or may not think their car is worth. Anyway...sub €2k automatic petrol family cars

NCT till 3/17, from a dealer, 92k kms allegedly and it has only done 1k since the last test. Yours for a firm €1750

    Or

A 07 plate, which to my eyes is still "new", NCT to 5/17 and yours for €1650. Oh and tax till 2/17 which is a nice bonus

I think the Saab 95 is a relatively unknown quantity with non car people value wise

Rough and ready but the ga16de is grand in these as they're light and most importantly this one isn't strangled by an Auto box like most 1.6's
    Being sold by a dealer
    Test till October 17
    Tax till early 2017
    Asking €250

The money you'd save on diesel you should just buy the Almera. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

    But it's so ugly :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

    How dare you!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

Better colour, wheels and only a 3 door though :o

Is it me or is the drivers door mismatched too?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

    Yeah, that's a fair point. :p
I think it's the wing that's an off colour, the door seems to blend well backwards.

Not the kind of car anyone really wants to drive in Winter...but it's NCT'd till 4/17 for €550. Someone once told me that bc these were made in a different factory with different steel they weren't nearly as rust prone as the regular Kas. Idk how true that is but nevertheless, its cheap

They were built by Pininfarina. I was on holiday in Italy in 2002 (iirc) and somewhere near Canavese Rocca I was stuck behind a transporter bringing StreetKa bodies from one factory to another. They had'nt hit the market at that point, but I'd seen photos, so it was a bit of excitement!

Seems like a bargain, if it's in anyway decent shape. Great looking car - much better resolved than the regular Ka.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,108 ✭✭✭boombang

The comparison between the Vectra and the Ka is fantastic for difference of only €250.

Still, that Vectra might suit the sort that transport livestock within their vehicle.

Nonsense. I was driving my convertible in zero degree temps a few weeks ago. With the roof down

Nah. NCT was out since 02/01/2016

And I very much doubt the car will ever pass an NCT again. Anyone remember the term "company car"?

Here's a GS with LPG. Taxed (until tomorrow, but it's a very good sign) and brand new NCT valid until 2018 for about a grand. Looks like a far better proposition to me:

If it weren't for that NCT cert, I'd had said that shine was covering a 4 on the clock instead of a 1.

... makes sense given the description in the ad but that's a couple of times now that NCTS website has given incorrect expiry date. Is there a more reliable way of checking?

No it didn't. But you have to read carefully what the NCTS website says :)

That car is the ultimate parenting countermeasure - 'If you don't get 9As in the Junior Cert we're using the Vectra for the school run'
