Yeah get it from that viewpoint, the fact trump was so pro russian yet still got elected was worrying considering the cold war is only just under 30yrs old.

Some of fillons foreign policies baffle me but again, compared to Le Peno who got 7m from Russiah he is lesser verison, worrying times ahead with the scare mongering, make people with decent lives think that we have it really bad.

poxy head cold. haven't been out on the bike in a week, partly cos i can't regulate pressure in my ears so even walking down a short hill results in discomfort.

    That sounds delightfully poxy

Been down with a chest infection myself, I'm 1000kms off my target for the year, I'm on annual leave from the 16th so I'll have a sore arse the last two weeks of the year. Bike just got a full service so ready to go

You don't 'have to' meet that target. Would be nice to have 2 weeks off but 500k per week in December sounds like a chore.
Have a few spins, and enjoy them, but let it go.

he took on a challenge to cycle 340 miles across a chinese desert; did it on a singlespeed in 28 hours. temperatures varied from a low of about -2 up to a high of about 18C.

Been very bunged up and phlegmy myself for the past few weeks and not getting out at all so decided to hack and splutter my way up Cruagh at lunch to see if I could knock it out of my system. I'd say I looked like the MAMIL's answer to typhoid Mary, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

That doesn't fit with my competitive personality and I will enjoy the sense of achievement

I had a few months of green, yellow, black and red mix earlier this year. The joys of a nose/sinus operation.

They might clear your airwaves for a few minutes, but that is about it.

3rd time for me, although the side/after effects worsened every time. He did take some bone out this time which may have contributed to all the blood.

Now have the pleasure of saline nasal rinses.....

Third time! Ugh. They never told me what it was like getting the packs removed. Christ, that was awful.

At least they do them together - having one done and then the other would be particularly daunting!

The problem I've found is it's just about as unpleasant an operation you can have, even though not particularly painful (once the anaesthetic had worn off I think I only needed a couple of paracetamol although I've needed a few more since being discharged due to ongoing headaches)

Noses run in our family! My dad had something similar done a while ago. Maybe you should warn any siblings you have about what they may have to look forward to.....

A strange feeling having a warm breeze on your face this time of year.

is there any general rule of thumb for width of flat bars, in the way there would be for road bars?
just been out for a short one on the hardtail, and my back hurts a little. didn't even go offroad. just wondering if it's because my arms are being held in a wider position.
my road bars are 44cm (though i think 42cm would be the correct size for me) and the bar on my hardtail is 60cm wide.

I barely kept up with a fella on a single speed on my way home yesterday evening. I have a new found dislike of single speed bikes.
