Big heavy showers this evening near Tralee adding to last nights more prolonged rain giving a total of 9mm so far ( couple of showers in the afternoon also )

I just saw The Dam being erected this afternoon. I hope it does the job? While it keeps water away from the Spanish Arch area, the long walk still looks to badly affected if there is a storm surge.

Very pleasant day especially compared to how cloudy and boring yesterday was. It is feeling very warm! Summer-like even though the temperature is only 17.2c - +0.2c above average. It feels more like 25-27c at Grange today! I even got a little bit of sunburn.

Checked met eireanns still crp radar n its showing dry in sligo but raintoday had showers so im staying in n needless to say its lashing.

Think we might actually get our first decent week of summers weather in sligo next week in time for october

Sounded quite rough last night after midnight here near Tralee with very heavy squally showers which kept up throughout the dark hours with 9.4mm in the gauge at 8.15, another couple of light showers after 9.00 brought it to its total of 9.8mm for the day so far. Not a bad day after that if somewhat cool, High temp of 15.2C in a fresh WNW wind reaching 40 kph
