    Landa
    then
    Aru
    then Purito & Moreno
    then
    Nieve and Majka?
    then
    Dumoulin and Chaves
    then
    Valverde

    Where is Quintana?

Dropping like a stone when last we saw him. Dumoulin/chaves/valverde group sailed right by him.

As I don't have Eurosport I'm very gratefully watching live now on TG4. The commentary is certainly very different to C Kirby. My Irish is only ok but not much excitement from the TG4 crew, they were discussing if the riders had clinchers or tubs a minute ago.

I like listening to them. It's like eavesdropping on a pair of auld lads down the pub having a chat about the race over a few pints.

But if you wan't to know what's actually happening in the race, or get an analysis of the tactics, then they're useless.

What a ride by Landa - incredible

    Boswell done quite well too.

Some brute of a stage. Well done Landa.

Moreno should probably have ridden his own race. He worked all day for Rodriquez and easily ride away from him at the end.

He started the day at 2.26 so will have a high overall placing.

Okay. Now let the fight begin.

    Aru v Dumoulin.

Aru to go bananas in the mountains in order to get the 2/3min he'll need to hold him off in the Time trial.

Roche behind Froome, unless he's missed by the cameras ?

I think he'll need more time than that over a 40k TT. Should be interesting

Yeah you're probably right. But I'm guessing that the ringer Aru is going to put him through in the mountains is going to take it's toll on the TT.

How the hell is your man Ashley supposed to respond to Juan Antonio's word stew?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,926 ✭✭✭letape

Ashley house said that nieve and Roche both finished in top 11 or 12 - presume he is mistaken?

Little did we know how right he was... those guys are f**king morons.

The Motos seem to be complete spanners in La Vuelta. It almost as if the contract has been outsourced to a load of teenage girls with smartphones.

Fabulous by Dumoulin to be really right in there for the overall as of now. Needs a killer of a TT though & obviously Aru has to be the significant favourite for the overall now.

I am not sure that we will see the end of Dumoulin tomorrow

As I said he weighs about the same as Nico and can push more power on the incline it seems

I wonder what his power to weight was on Sunday ...bet it was way above the old 6W/kg threshold that all the pseudo scientists bang on about

The climbs tomorrow are hard but there are plenty downhills in between, The stage is also relatively short and as a World class TT he knows how to suffer

Nico doesn't sound too optimistic in the Indo

Pain in the shoulder when he stands on the pedals is a bad sign as he stands on the pedals alot going up hill.....never managed to pick up the SKY sitting down high cadence stuff...such a pity as he was going very well

    http://www.independent.ie/sport/othe...-31496204.html

Maybe Nieve could be the best of the SKY bunch today

Seems I was unfortunately right about today

I was so tired just watching it...mental stage ...not really about racing but more about hanging in. I thought Quintana was about to come to a full stop towards the end (and he didn't seem to care)

Once & for all ?? or this year you mean ??

He is injured so its not a good idea to confine him to the waste basket forever after today. If he can recover he can maybe go for a stage win

Surprised he came in after froome as he was ahead of Froome on the climb wher they both got dropped and he was dropped after Froome
He may have given up th fight unlike Froome who kept going

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,247 ✭✭✭MPFGLB

But of course the usual suspects will be on here very soon saying how useless Roche is

I think a full-fit Nico would have gotten on pretty well today.
The gradients weren't nuts and the tempo wasn't too high.
