Until their mouth starts watering in Tesco and they come home with a bag of Doritos and a tub of ice cream.

That will still happen at the end of your three-month wonder program

Yes, and when that happens you lick the flavour off Doritos and eat m&ms.

It's hilarious to think that your average weak-willed fatty is going to change the habits of a lifetime and permanently eat kale and boiled chicken with spices to make it interesting. Does that ever work?

But the weak-willed fatty is going to open up a bad of M&Ms and Doritos and lick them.

I don't know if I'm laughing with you or at you but I'm laughing.

All I'm saying is that licking the Doritos is better than eating them. And you want to eat m&ms because you can eat chocolate in small portions and it feels like you're eating a lot more.

Licking the dust off the bookshelves is better again but that's only marginally less likely to happen than a weak-willed person opening Doritos and not eating them.

Try it. It works for me, and I don't have any exceptional will power. The thing is, once you've licked them, you won't go back and eat the licked Doritos because that just feels disgusting.

    It's ok.

I have my buket of kale.

Licking the flavour off Doritos? That's like trying to cure horniness by getting a lap dance

I'd say it's more like preventing yourself from having too much sex by watching porn.

Most weight loss plans are like trying to cure horniness by just trying really hard not to be horny any more.

And yet another thread in the Fitness forum spirals radically off topic....

And I think we have scared the OP away as well.

    Not really.

That'd mean you are advocating watching Doritos adverts.

You're suggesting licking food is a good way to satisfy your cravings to eat said food.

    Which is mental.

This is like some sort of sketch dreamt up by the Monty Python lads.

We should be teaching people to learn how to use real food, eat real food and have a healthy attitude towards and with food.

Licking Dorito dust doesn't not fit anywhere along that scale. From someone who used to be obese many moons ago and from dealing with clients that have issues with food on varying degrees, I'd advise against it if you want to build realistic attitudes that you can take with you to the future, not for a matter of weeks.

what do you do with the doritos after you have licked them? Hang them up on the washing line for tomorrow?

I get where you are coming from in relation to the initial weight loss but I in no way agree with it. What you are suggesting is not sustainable as it is still encouraging bad eating habits and will not lead to long term weight loss. You are telling people to regularly give in to cravings..... cravings should not be listened to on a daily basis if you are craving nutritionally poor high sugary foods. It certainly is OK to have a treat every now and again but I would not be telling people to have chocolate to make them feel batter if they were depressed as you did above.

OP your exercise regime looks good to me. I would try to vary the activities as much as possible and try to enjoy it as much as you can. Read the stickies re diet and familiarise yourself with the nutritional value of what your eating. Be realistic with your goals, I wouldn't suggest trying to lose any more than 1-2 pounds a week unless you are obese as it is just not sustainable. Good luck with it!

I'm not suggesting it - I'm telling you from personal experience that it is a good way. It's a fact. And I don't know why people are focused on this. I said the point of my contribution was that you've got to eat 1500-1800 calories a day. You don't have to lick crisps if you don't want to.

Can you just lick all the food as an easier way to stay within your calorie allowance?

I like to have 4 Weetabix in the morning but calories. This way I wouldn't have to cut to 2 Weetabix - I could just lick 4 and beat the system.

I'm not sure where you come from, but where I come from Weetabix don't have a tasty seasoning on top.

And I'd definitely recommend you go for the four Weetabix. As long as you're satisfied by your breakfast. Skimping on breakfast makes you hungry all day.

I could just go for a breakfast with more protein and fat annd feel fuller for longer without needing to blow 600 kcals on it.

And I get to maintain my dignity by not licking food,

I'd prefer the dignity of being able to tie up the top button of my jeans.

If something else fills you up then good for you. I find that Weetabix or porridge fills me up.

Once you've lost weiught, your body needs fewer calories.

    THIS!!

And 2,500 calories isn't a one-size fits all. EXACTLY RIGHT

and when he knew he was wrong his response was "well it worked for me, thats all im saying" thats because what you're saying is grounded in the basics i.e. eat less and move more but your based understanding of fat loss is wayyyyy off

But if you're serious then just I just don't even know. Ya can't be seriouse tho can ya?
