Jamelia... I really don't like Jamelia...

Maybe they'll pull out one huge one. Maybe we'll get lucky.

Will my wee Donegal get to vote in it?

Viewers in Derry, Tyrone, Fermanagh, Armagh, Down and Antrim have always been able to vote in it, though.

    Just sayin'. :o:o:D:);)

Yes crappy line up so far

    That's a pretty strong word. :o:o:D;)

I seem to be the only one here who actually likes Jamelia... :o:o:o:o;)

Be interesting if there is a curvy size contestant now

Is there always one fat contestant?

I am really looking forward to this years show. I think the line up is great. I'm expecting great things from our Daniel.

Dancer Joane Clinton is not dancing with a celebrity. What's the point of her then?

It takes two will be on for an hour on Friday's. Launch of the main show on Saturday 5th September at 7.15pm. The celebrities will be matched with their dance partners.

I hope Natalie gets a good partner this year. She is my favorite dancer.

This could be the year I stop watching. They've got professionals Robin and Joane presenting it takes two on a Friday. I don't see the point of them presenting when they are not dancing and they are both good dancers.
Yet they role out Kristina and ola every year, who are not good dancers, and have the same old routine

Helen George from Call the Midwife confirmed for the show.

Looking forward to this show, as I do every year!

Glad Ola seems to have recovered after her injury.

    Still miss Flavia though!!

They should have got rid of ola after last year

    <PEDANT>

They won't actually be presenting - they'll be giving reports and offering so-called expert analysis.

Zoe will still be presenting every day.

I'm probably not watching it this year. Too many Z listers I've never heard of. Not giving good professional dancers the chance, all the while sticking to the usual bad professionals.

I definitely wouldn't call Carol, Jeremy, Katie, Anthony or even Ainsley Z listers.

    Give them a chance.

As it was being announced who was taking part I thought there was loads I didn't know. But looking at the final one up I know 11 out of 15 so not too bad.

Not a bad line up this year, I'm sure it'll be good fun when it gets going anyway. I have high hopes for Kellie Bright, Jay McGuinness & Kirsty Gallacher. :D

aye well we would view Daniel as one of our own as he probably is more connected to the rest of Ulster than to Kerry or Cork

And sure there's plenty of us Irish over in the UK too to cheer* him on!

*I say cheer because I ain't voting for him

    Don't write Daniel off!
I think he'll be a very likeable contestant.
I remember watching him on TOTP in my youth and admittedly his dancing skills seemed negligible, if memory serves me correctly.

I fear he'll be an excruciatingly embarassing dancer though........

Will Daniel be partnered with Anton? That would be fun! Can you imagine Len?

Didn't realise Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec were going out.
    Another Strictly romance!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,046 ✭✭✭kitten_k

    They have recently gotten engaged.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,331 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

I neither like/dislike Daniel O'Donnell but I really hope he takes it seriously and puts the hard work in during training, rather than taking it light-heartedly and be a 'fun' contestant (and aiming for the sympathy vote).

  • Registered Users Posts: 157 ✭✭apieceofcake

I really really love Strictly but the only thing I dislike about it is the early start time - I find I am nearly always rushing to get back to the house by 7 or so.

I don't have sky/ways of recording it - so I need to watch it 'as it happens'

    Any way around this? :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,595 ✭✭✭Meauldsegosha

Well the bad news is I'm going to miss the show tomorrow night. :(
But the good news is I managed to get a ticket for the Dublin v Mayo replay. :pac: :P
