or from Mrs. fanboi hurtling down country roads :pac: but yeah, very low mileage for a failure like that imo.

Unless she spends here evenings doing reverse donuts I don't think it should have failed by now!

As said they should cover it with that low mileage. Isn't that a 12 reg it's quite low mileage for that is it not used that much or did it just not come with much mileage when you bought it.

Just flicking through DoneDeal trawling for my next hot hatch (Why the hell cant i buy a damn Astra J OPC here ) and spotted a new type R... Does anyone reckon a single one of those will sell here? I would imagine anyone who has that kind of cash (52k ) would be seen dead in one. There no doubting its performance specs but my lord does it look like its crashed backwards through Halfords and picked up a few bells and whistles along the way

Well my front left wheel decided to do a runner while I was driving back from Galway today.

    Cue sparks galore.

Christ, that sounds frightening... I understand it's annoying. But as long as everyone's okay.. cars can be replaced, people can't..

Anyone watching or watched Narcos (I recommend it btw)? There is an E39 in it. Escobar was killed in 1993. Strangely satisfying spotting fcuk ups on shows or in movies :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,661 ✭✭✭Voodoomelon

Yup, started watching it on Monday, on episode four now, very impressed so far! I do the same, with cars and guns. What should and shouldn't be there, spotting props etc. I have problems!

And there's me being annoyed that every time they show a plane it's a 737-800 with winglets which didn't appear until this century!

I thought he was refering to the latest Civic Type R and not the Golf R?

Astra J OPC is such a striking looking car, but I am biased :P

Yea Twas the civic I was referring to, I've seen a good few Golf R's around in the past few months!

It is a beautiful car alright, I assume it was never available here? There's one in Antrim on donedeal but there's 6k vrt on it which is robbery! Unfortunately it's. It the proper OPC Arden blue!

Opel have one themselves at the moment...should pop up for sale sooner or later. It's not Arden Blue though.

If you are with Liberty and your renewal is coming soon, I suggest you look for a new insurer - prices went up by almost 40% in a month

Interesting to hear about a car stopped by the gards for driving with fogs on:

    https://twitter.com/GardaTraffic/status/647344316713697280

And then turning out that the driver had a fake license and insurace disc.... while drunk.

Great find by the guards fair play!

I drive with my front fogs on. You could also ague and say they are spots though.

I drive with my front fogs on. You could also ague and say they are spots though.

It doesn't specify, but I'd say if anything, rear fogs will get you pulled.
General rule for anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of how lights on a vehicle work:
Front fogs: Little spots, shine downwards and do not project very far, because the whole point of them is to illuminate ONLY the area directly in front of the car. This is because anything that projects further is counterproductive in really thick fog which we don't get here. No really, you haven't seen fog in this country. Not if you could still see the end of your bonnet. Complaining about those is reserved for Victor Meldrew types.

Rear Fogs: Designed to emit and scatter a megawatt pure red beam directly at eye level height directly burning itself into the retina of the driver of the following vehicle. Should be instant death penalty to have those on at ANY time, refer to point about fog in Front Fogs.
