So the main attraction to this title seems solely on multiplayer combat?

I am going to just try different characters in the next one for a laugh. I stuck with Orochi and was almost on prestige level 3 in the closed beta... My hands still hurt :)

    seriously?

that's very odd Ubisoft are up to something, most likely a poor marketing ploy

played the beta for a couple of hours and found it boring........... Good idea on paper but found the gameplay all abit meh, with so many other games coming out in the next few weeks this could flop,

Theyre calling it a beta, but id call it a demo.

Clever move IMO. Some more exposure right before launch.

In the open beta they have added the game mode 'Elimination'

Its 4 vs 4 with no AI and no positions to capture.

Dunno if things have improved for the open beta but it was an absolute shambles in closed beta.

Only managed to get into one game over the course of 3 days

I never had any problems in the closed but I'm constantly getting ustore offline/ match making failed today, maybe the servers weren't ready for open beta

Seems like i get a free copy of this or the new Ghost Recon with the new graphics card i bought, so i might actually try the beta and see if it's any good.

    Uplay is wonky today.

Everyone complaining about the servers etc (and gameplay)

Currently about 50/50 on (positive/negative) STEAM reviews ...slightly more negative reviews

Combat is very clunky, chivalry does it so much better.

    lol, not a million years.

You just need to learn the combat system.

I am hoping the connection problems spike now and they shift it off to dedicated servers. It is Ubisoft after all. There is no excuse not to have servers. Since its not on dedicated servers I'd say Ubisoft is being very cautious with the budget for this game.

Read that you have to do the tutorial are your at nothing. Is it in the beta, just started downloading it.

Yes, it launches you into the tutorial. Complete it and they give you 2000 steel (in game currency)

Certain warriors will cost you 500 steel and some are free. You can buy premium packs for 500 that have better weapons and armour.

I highly recommend going on to do the advanced practice tutorial also. (No reward) but good stuff to know.

*side note: The AI bots in this game are really good and get upped to match or slightly exceed your level. Try some AI matches to practice.

I wouldn't come on a state my opinion of inferior combat compared to chivalry without playing the game enough.

Ive played tutorial and over 2 hours of MP, to me personally its clunky as fcuk and nowhere near as good as chivalry.

You could be correct and maybe I do need to play more but what I did play is the usual new game hype train at full speed.

Ill play a bit more to decide fully, maybe play with a pad instead of mouse.
