Hold on, they don't chase randomers, the whiners borrowed cash and benefited from it, no?
Sure, there are some debtors who are pure chancers and feck them, but Cabot are really coming across as a shower of chancers and total shytes.

Pure scum these debt collectors, tell them where to go.

    Cabot Financial

    *shudder*

I worked for them for short while. Their modus operandi is to trick the poorly informed into repaying consumer loans that can be forgotten about given sufficient time. They would post with those letter some low quality legal paperwork to frighten them, get a response and trap them into repaying an unsecured consumer loan, which otherwise would effectively expire. The targets were always desperately poor people. Horrible place, horrible people, I feared going into work there, and when I went into hospital got not so much as a call.

    *shudder*
If a call to Joe Duffy/PBH can highlight this scam, well and good.

What is the legal position in the country for debt collectors who have bought debts from another company?

In other words: can a debtor wriggle out of his/her debt because Peter now owns it, although the money was originally borrowed from Paul?

I wonder if more than one person here is currently working for Cabot or some other, similar sh1tbag company.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

Another mixed bag I see….from people losing their ring to people being scared sh!tless by Cabot….I see RTÉ's tedious link there (lol).

Looks like the borefest has continued - I reckon even Joe must be worried at the falling listenership when the Pedantic Boring Humanoid is given the reins for this long. Whatever about yearning for Joe at this stage, even D'Omen's "Farmtalk" and "GAA" obsessions were better than this tripe we're being served for the last week and a half.

Well I'll not be in attendance tomorrow either so here's to hoping Joe comes back with a BANG! BANG! (see what I did there? :roll eyes: )on Monday. Have a good one boardsies, I'll review your work tomorrow night.

"Keep the faith so to speak",

Too many power tools in the background today. Any chance of a synopsis?

Or, "God forbid", a link to a podcast.

I've read the comments up to 14.12. I've come to the conclusion that P B H is being forced into this. There's no way any self respecting "Journalist" would do this shít

What needs to be established is are you liable to pay someone your debt has been sold to in this country or not.

Can people who work in call centres actually 'slam down' the phone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,005 ✭✭✭✭Flukey

Instead of talking to Philip, she should be looking out her window. Cabot may be sending her a message by smoke signals.

You can slam down the "release" button, it's not nearly as much fun to rid yourself of the rage :D
