Still a bit cheaper from my link plus much quicker delivery. In saying that the OP hasn't specified what streaming he will be doing, the formuler box is out on its own for IPTV use but if it's Netflix etc they mean I'd be looking elsewhere

For me, the Shield is still the best box on the market. Have two, one 2017 and one 2019, and both of them are still working absolutely perfectly. The OTA firmware updates mark them out from most of the rest, ease of use, simple interface, pretty much full Playstore (no licence issues like, say, Mecool and Netflix for example) etc. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Formuler Z11 pro max and Nvidia Shield are by far the 2 best box's I've used.

I'd gladly recommend either of them.

Alright lads, I have two tanix minis and they seem to be end of life, sluggish, struggle with mkv files etc.

What would ye recommend to replace em with, not mega bucks mind you

    TOX3!

Had a tanix mini myself, then moved to x96 max+, 10 months ago I got a TOX3 with ugoos UR-01 Bluetooth air mouse for 70 euro from AliExpress. Probably can be had for less now. Great value. Very customisable out of the box. Fast. Good wifi chip and gigabit ethernet. Love it.

TOX3 system update today. Great effort from TrustOnX devs 👍.

My android box h96 pro + goes into sleep and when I power it back on the wifi shows as connected but it's not

    Any ideas

Probably not the answer you're looking for but I never sleep my box. If this option is not in the power settings will probably be in the developer options.

    Ah

I was looking for that as there's no standard option to stop sleep

I currently have a Xiaomi Mi Box but finding it struggles with some 4k content and UHD streams.

I use it as an IPTV streamer and with Kodi, Netflix, Disney apps also.

What's best to replace this with? I saw the formuler above but wondering does it work well outside of IPTV.

IIRC Formuler boxes are not Google certified. Usually this means you will not have a good experience with the streaming apps like Netflix, Prime, Disney+ directly from the box. Formuler are made for IPTV and according to many here are top dog for that. If you want 4k / the most up to date streaming apps on your box you would be better looking for Google certified and review videos. You may have to pay a bit now though. The Mi Box was a gem at the time as it had Google certification for a bargain price.

I had a quick look at a few boxes. A Mecool KM2 Plus might fit the bill for you:

    Or Mecool KM7 Plus:

If you want higher spec with Google certification you will pay a pretty penny. E.g. Homatics Box R 4K Plus. Unless someone else has seen a better deal than me on a Google Certified box.

I have the Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 version and the remote control has died.

Are there any good 3rd party remotes or is it best to go with the Nvidia one?

You can install the Nvidia Shield remote control app from the Google Playstore for free.

I've got that, but I want a real remote. More convenient.
