Best of luck all, don't get carried away at the start, drink small and drink often, if you need a toilet break don't rush to catch your pace group, soak up the atmosphere and most of all....

All packed and ready to go! Still somehow feel under prepared.....

I think that I have managed to shake that damn knee niggle after 10 days rest, went for a 3K brisk walk and felt nothing afterwards so fingers crossed.;)

It's all been said at this stage Novices, have a great day out it will be epic. You are all well prepared and will no doubt have great races....remember to run/jog 50-100M in your runners prior to setting off and DRAFT in the PP and the Crumlin Road if it windy to save a bit of energy.

Going to my leaba soon, see you all in McGrattans tomorrow after the race.

Really enjoyed the Thread, Dubgal and Mentors....you guys deserve an Oscar!!

Super Race reports are the next thing that we will see.....yippee

Does anybody know much about fitting runners, I picked up a pair during the week and they aren't fitting right, seem to catch around the heel. I've already binned the old ones so need these to fit correctly by the morning.


Only joking, I mightn't have trained as much as I'd have liked to but I'm not that stupid, my runners are well broken in at this stage.

Seriously though, really good luck to everyone tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'll make McGrattens tomorrow but am going to try my best as it'd be great to put a face to all these posts.
I've said it already but to all the mentors, you've done amazing work.

I think someone said they'd have a red ballon at the start for people to meet up, so hopefully I might find a few people at that stage. Just be careful people don't think you're a pacer!

I'm checking out for the night now; pack stuff, book and a tiny glass of wine.

On a philosophical note, I'm reminded of the famous mountaineer George Mallory on being asked why he climbed Mount Everest, he simply replied "Because it was there"! What ever your reason for running tomorrow- go, smash it, feel epic & saviour the experience.

Very best of luck to all the novices tomorrow. Settling in to watch Father Ted on RTE2 followed by Dodge ball. Some comedy before embracing the pain tomorrow. My bib no. is 3843, bright yellow asics kayano 22 and i look like Colm 'the gooch' cooper so hard to miss. Hoping for a wind inspired sub 3:40 :-)

Thanks for the phenomenal support, entertainment, reassurance etc in the last 4 months from everyone, wouldn't have been half the fun without this board. Not sure if I will make it to McGrattans but 5301 (purple t-shirt) will be looking out for you at 22M DG...

DG, you must have spent more time leading this board than we have in actual training - some achievement and heartfelt thanks.

I am not going to wish anyone best of luck for tomorrow... You have MADE your own luck this year with your training, preparation, sacrifice etc. Tomorrow you WILL be a marathon runner!!
