Good luck to everyone for tomorrow. I hope you all have a great race and get everything out of it that you expected. I'm looking forward to finally meeting some of you and putting faces to the names I've been reading over the last few months.

DG - you've been amazing with this thread, well done. Your last 'call to arms' post nearly had me in tears. well done again.

Good luck all. If you're aiming for 4:30 and plan to run with the pacer group, just look for the yellow balloons in wave 3, from about 8:20 or so. There will be plenty of time to kill so come over and say hello. All the best. :)

Yes it is, all we need is your bib number :)

Mine is 6894, hoping to be in time for a 4.30 finish.

    One last final question from me as I have every check list checked off at this stage. I'm going in the bath in about 20 minutes and plan to be in bed by 9 (I never sleep but I'm going to bed regardless!!) ok, so last question;

Do I have to pin the number on my vest or is it ok on my belt?

(I know, I know, every question I ask is dumb, sorry)

First off thanks to DG for all the advice on the thread but more importantly the time. Your life must have been on hold for the past few months.

Second best of luck to everyone tomorrow... Let's all try to enjoy it.

And thirdly the forecast seems to have changed.....there is now NO rain forecast. Fingers cossed the wind that is forecast disappears.

No such thing as a dumb question on this thread engol :)

Not too hot now and not too long in the bath, ok?!

Afaik it has to be on your front and visible at all times. You run the danger of being physically removed from the finishing straight if your number is not visible on the front. So just make sure it's secure, won't flap and visible :)

    Best of luck!

Hey all, just want to wish all first timers the best of luck tomorrow, last year I was one of you and found this thread most valuable. Enjoy the race, enjoy the atmosphere (highlight for me was the crowd as we exited Phoenix Park from Chesterfield Ave.) and try to keep the head up in the last few miles, it really does help!

Just a quick question, there was a Facebook tracker last year, I can only presume its there again this year but I cant seem to find it. Can someone post a link please?

Chickey & I will be at mile 20.5 (at the end of Miltown Road/start of Clonskeagh Road) with this lot of goodies all bagged up, however! I will expect to see you flying by with a wave & a smile & no need at all for sustenance :) I'll be there until the 5 hour pacers pass.

Ok so the friend I was meant to be running with now wants to go to the Gin Palace of all places, but he's also decided he wants to do 4:10:00; realistically I don't see us finishing together so hopefully I can get to McGrattans.

On a more serious note, my sleep has been awful all week so if anyone can recommend any tips for tonight. If tried all the usual; all electronic stuff off, no stimulation for a few hours before, no coffee after four. Thanks in advance.

    Folks,

Haven't been on to post in a bit but have tried to keep up with the reading for the most part. The last few weeks training went okay but I feel a bit lethargic still. Hopefully my tapertastic legs will kick in tomorrow morning at around 9.10am. Went to the expo on Saturday and had a wander around for a while. Nice atmosphere and a sense of occasion about it I thought. Best of luck to everyone tomorrow and a huge thanks to Dubgal and the mentoratti for their help and invaluable support over the past 18-20 weeks. I've learnt a lot, from both the novices and the more experienced runners, so thank you all.

I'm going for an early night tonight to try and get some few hours sleep if possible. Trying to get my bag packed for tomorrow and have everything ready shortly. Hope to see you all in McGrattans for a pint tomorrow

    Mark

According to the tracker my bib number doesn't exist but I'm able to find myself when I enter my name into. Is this the same for everyone?
