No the trend with the Labour party has very much been away from the views, values and outlooks that the majority of Scots support as well. The increasing divergence in the general outlook on life and society has been a factor in the move toward Scottish indpendence.

Majority of people living in Scotland, don't forget the 800,000 that live in England, or the 500,000 English born people living in Scotland.

So over the last few years, there has been a trend for both Scotland and England to move away from Labour. England to the Tories, Scotland to the SNP. I guess the war mongering of Tony Blair and the financial incompetence of Gordon Brown had something to do with that. Damned English politicians.

The way it was put, Scotland free once again, made it sound as though Scotland was a colony or something.

Scotland like Ireland and many other countries has many nationals living abroad just as like Ireland and many other countries it has foreign nationals living within. The point remains that Scotland has views and values and an outlook on the kind of society they believe in that differs greatly from what is on offer within Britain as a whole be it Labour or the Tories.
