    Johnson and Clinton

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

I think you have it, but just clarify which Johnson, as there's been two.

Andrew of course. Butter wouldn't melt in Lyndon's mouth.

How many times would Rhode Island fit into Alaska? If the exact number isn't given after ten answers I will award it to the nearest.

    100

    500. I've been to both but never bothered to measure them.

    150

If only it were for holidays -

    I'll raise it to 600

    873!

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

    I'd say much, much higher - 2500?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,887 ✭✭✭IrishZeus

Ill go higher again and say 3000.

Ok then, I'll raise my bid to 8173, if 873 isn't enough. :pac:

Although they evolved from a toothed ancestor, birds no longer have teeth.
So is an "egg tooth" not a real dentine type tooth? I always took it as read that the egg tooth was just a real tooth growing in an odd place.
    Francium and caesium
    :)

I'll opt for 2 - just to cover the low end of the spectrum of guesses. :D

Without ever having given it much thought, I was under the impression the egg tooth was simply a bit of extra beak, not tooth at all?

^^^This is me on most topics. :) For example I'm currently re-reading 20,000 leagues under the sea and have only just realised that the distance is a measure of journey travelled rather than depth attained :/

When I first read it I had no notion what a league was and simply assumed it was a measure of depth and have never corrected that in my mind till now.

So, eight guesses so far. Two more needed, I guess before feargale will reveal, so to move things on - I'll guess 8000.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 78,215 Mod ✭✭✭✭New Home

Then I'm going to say 42, as a third (or fourth guess). That's bound to be right!

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

I've looked up the answer. Will I give it so we can carry on, or will we wait for Feargale?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,740 ✭✭✭✭looksee

Or we could throw in another question just to keep things moving, no harm in a couple of questions going - anyone got one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,636 ✭✭✭feargale

    Wait.

Srameen gets the gold medal for 500.
Srameen also takes the silver medal for 600.

    - Wooden Spoon. :pac:

    Correct answer: 425.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Yeah, I was surprised it was so low. Alaska just seems so-oooo big.

Also surprised that Rhode Island was the smallest state. I thought that was Hawaii. And Hawaii isn't even the second smallest either - there's like, 7 smaller than it. Good question.

We're supposed to have two questions running simultaneously here, but at present we don't have one. Here goes:

In 1900 Galway City stunned the Irish political world by electing a Unionist M.P. to Westminster. The successful candidate eventually died without issue. Name the famous man who was his nephew and heir.
