The turbo hasn't shortened it's lifespan so!

My neighbour has/had a lovely 100/90. During the frost he was taking a tanker of slurry out of a tank, and lost grip coming down the yard.
Took off like a bob-sleigh and hit the corner of a building.
Broke in two at the bellhousing, bent the two shafts running back into the gearbox.
    Write off. ☹

Has he the cart before the horse? You'd think front links wiuld have been a better option to carry agitator

    Or the other way round.
Fella near here carries the agitator in a builders trailer hitched on to the back of slurry tanker

I'd say he has it right . The agitator is fierce bouncy on the arms on the road . All's he has to do is unhitch the trailer and back straight back under the links when he wants to take it off

bit soul destroying having to do both jobs with one tractor, just when you are agitating you realise you need water, off with agitator and on with tanker

Neighbour here always fills the tanker full of water and parks it beside the tank before hitching on the agitator. Even if it mixes fairly easily he will always fire the water into the tank.

I always divert downpipes into tank after cattle go out. Always easy to mix after that.

How much is a 2008 New Holland T6010 with 3750 hours and a New Holland loader with tyres gone on front and well down on the back worth?

32-35k I'd be thinking. Hours are fairly low.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,211 ✭✭✭tanko

Had it for a few hours today, think he's looking for €38k for it. Nice roomy cab in it but are the two gearsticks not a bit of a balls. I'd be used to driving Masseys and McCormicks. What horsepower is the New Holland, are they considered a good reliable tractor?
Im not thinking of buying it, the 590 will do me a while yet!!!

Ya they would be fairly good I'd imagine, t6010 is around 100hp at a guess. Was it the electroshift gearbox with the 4 power shifts or dual power gearbox in it? It's probably not awful dear at that either if hours are genuine and it's clean outside of the tyres. I got a bit of a shock at the price of second hand tractors when we were buying this time last year. Hard to justify it.

    Dual power gearbox i think.
Yeah its a pretty clean tractor but is 100HP not a bit underpowered for a tractor that size?

Depends what you want it for I guess, still being aimed at the stockmen but a good bit more ballast than the smaller 100hp tractors. Electroshift gearbox is a lot nicer to drive. http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/005/4/8/5487-new-holland-t6010.html
