Ah ok, Mind you I've never seen anyone spread that way

It's the only way you could spread evenly with a single spinner, well that's what l found.
Also very fast and no turning and messing on headlands
You can see the last tracks better than going up and down too so still do this way sometimes even with twin disc.

Why so? Because it throws more to one side?

When buying second hand machinery up the north from a dealer is there anyway to get around having to pay the vat? I'm not vat registered so its of no benefit to me. I could pay in cash but suspect that is no good for a dealer? Items nearly work out dearer when buying up the north when transport is included but the items are cleaner

Just bring a friend that's VAT registered

How does that work? Surely they would have to show it on their books then?

Or take a vat number off a random invoice.

Yeah the receipt is made out to your mate.

If your vat registered do you have to pay the vat down south or will a vat number do for that as well.

You pay the vat but claim it back

True but your mate has to be very carefully in case of a vat/revenue check he still has to show that money leaving from the company account and if he gets a right busy body checker also show where the money came from originally. Plus vat originally charged out on that money

It's not as straightforward as it sounds to cover your bases

    What money leaving his account?

Exactly! They'll see no money leaving the account so will assume there is unaccounted for cash floating around.
Do you know what revenue are like when they think there is undeclared cash?

If he's claiming vat back on a purchased machine, he will have to show money moving from his account in the business the vat is being claimed back for.

Tbh, it sounds very messy and not a little bit illegal.

Not if the machine is purchased up the north only if purchased in the south.
