I don't know what it is with me but I'm struggling to get into this, I remember loving the loving last one. Saying I'm bored wouldn't be right but I'm far from engaged too :(

Have to say its not quite catching me either, I only played it for one day but there is alot more to dislike then like TBH.....got in on the XB1 for £44 in ASDA.

The energy system is a disaster, dont like it at all. You cant go 5 mins in any mission without having to hack something which totally slows down the game play. And is extremely tedious.

Combat is not great and the animation on the chars could be better and so could the voice acting....will deffo know by weekend if I am trading it in but not the game I was hoping for.

Accidently incapacitated 2 shop dudes in the 1st area, struggling to sell weapons now.

Think I failed opening a door they went hostile from a different room and i Ninjad them. They are asleep fecking days now.
Haha I did the same but thankfully had just saved. Here's an alternative, go to the apartment where the hack attempt was made from on Dovos. Climb through a vent in a back room, past a laser trip wire thing and then into a room marked on your minimap as "red". In there is a weapons dealer... (freakin' weird place to put one, I presume you can reach him another way :) )

Also, back at the weapons dealer in your block... anyone who wants their stuff can just multitool past the door lock and waltz out with everything in the backroom (worth a multi tool but save beforehand in case you don't agree, the front room isn't worth it though).
They don't blink an eye lid!

You need to upgrade the energy in your augmentations, I nearly have that tree filled and noticing a big difference already.

Edit: I agree about the animations, something was catching my eye but I couldn't figure it out. Just noticed its the lip syncing :D

Played another few hours of this last night and slowly getting into it. But for a next gen console the graphics and rag doll antics are below bar....its the CONSTANT hacking for everything that has my head melted.

Would not mind if it was even slightly interesting.

Is there a lot more hacking than compared to HR?

There is a lot more things to hack yes, you dont have to hack them tho.

    Sometimes there is another way.

Yeah I actually enjoyed the hacking but the thought of having to do it every few feet if I'm going for a stealth run seems annoying.
Multiple paths should help with that also.

I'll probably pick this up in a few weeks.

There is an abundance of hack cheats, software you can pick up that makes hacking easier. I have ****loads of them but want the XP from hacking.

If I try not to murder the next shop dude i find, I hope I can sell them.

These controls are driving me mad. It also doesn't run that well on PS4 I don't think, and its a bit rag dolly-y. And looks a bit crap.

I'm not feeling it yet. Might try and veer away from the pacifist route cos I'm terrible at the stealth thing.

Well to me even with the some augs unlocked I still feel underpowered against all but the basic grunts....so I stealth my way around but if it goes tits up I make sure they remember me....lol.

The shotgun is fully upgraded and is very good....so is the battle rifle.

I'm around mission 8/9 and have tranqed/shocked about 8 guards altogether.

Just ransacked the bank as well, very satisfying.

Enjoying it so far, but the exposition of the story is clunky.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,510 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Damn I'm finding this a bit boring so far. Zoning out during conversations and not caring about the story. Sneaking into places is good but it just feels like it's missing something. Maybe another game ruined for me by Witcher 3. Haven't once felt the need to know what's next or do '1 more mission'.

Are there many side missions? Constantly feel like i could be missing out on them.

There are a good few side missions, I have only done 2 main stories the rest are side missions.

I liked the side mission Harvestor, it was good being the pink panther for an hour lol

Check your mission directory on a regular basis. You can either pay for info or you pick it up as you go along.

There's a lad in the first hub (outside your apartment I think.....) that sells info for neuropozyne.

    Meeting
    Talos Rucker
in the cut scene when you enter the office he looks like his hair has a bit of length, it ends and he's in front of you sporting a buzz cut and looks more like Nico Bellic

I'm usually the last to nitpick but that was quite jarring. Wonder is it like that on any of the other platforms, xbox here?

I'm enjoying it so far, lot's of side missions.
The only thing that annoys me slight is the mouse sensitivity..by default is crazy high.
I still haven't found a perfect fit yet.

Really enjoying it so far, having great fun roaming around Prague hacking and robbing everything in sight. Its less mankind divided and more Adam Jensen Kleptomaniac at this stage but exactly what I love about the series.

Up to mission 10 I think and story is not too bad. Some of the dialogue is a little strange and the body motion during the convo cut scenes is weird. You're having a conversation with someone and all of a sudden Jensen just randomly nods his head or motions strangely with his hands and it doesn't tie with the dialogue.

The new augs are interesting and fun to play around with. Had a great time wandering around Palisade bank opening vaults and breaking into offices, they should be done for false advertising at this stage definitely not the most secure bank in the world.

I'm running it on a 680ti and haven't had any graphical problems. Occasional frame rate drops particularly during transition scenes but they clear up after a second or two. I'm overdue a graphics card upgrade at this point anyway.

Have gotten used to the controls at this stage and adjusting the POV out to 100 really helped me with the game. The default setting is awful.

This is annoying the **** out of me. There's a very unnatural lag between dialogues.

Strange thing happened, I never tried to buy the forged document from the copper at the beginning so never got SM01. But Obviously had gone to where the lads were for some reason they attacked me and I let the robot police machine take care of them. Then I looted the crap out of their base.

But now everytime I walk past the coppers at the original spot the are instantly hostile to me. I will now have to murder them :(

Also Tarvos Security have multiple vacancies for security staff in Palisade bank due to ummm a minor boo boo. Wouldnt mind it was a civilian who busted me (also dead) so a storage space has also opened up in Palisade bank.

As per usual, Jim Sterling perfectly encapsulates how I feel about this game

So you don't automatically die if you walk on the electrified floors ?

I found this out after one mission today
    getting into the nightclub
    .

Before I took this route....which I seen at the start but thought it was a deathtrap, I spent an hour trying different routes, knocking out guards and getting codes etc etc.
I couldn't find the code, so I decided to take the electric tunnel route, so I ran off and grabbed 2 crates...a trick I had done to get into the Police station in DE:HR.
I'd stand on one box, pick up the other and move it in front, walk onto that, then pick the one behind and put it in front...and so on.
However...this time I fell off the box...and got electrocuted..but it took ages to die. So I decided to just load up my health....and run down the corridor on the electric floor..and open the door/vent at the end of it.....and it worked.

    Stupid

Also...I've not come across any instance or need for Micro transactions in Deus Ex yet.
FYI got the game for 32 euro on G2Play (pre-order version) a week after release.(still available)

Have to say Prague on lock-down is a pure buzz kill and totally ruins the flow of the game.....was just getting into a nice rhythm and now this crap. Better not last long all it does is use loads of biocells for your cloak.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,013 ✭✭✭✭Wonda-Boy

Game is REALLY SHORT, just as I was getting into it the credits popped up! Felt I was just halfway through the story really disappointed over all.

Glad I only paid €53 for it, trading it in the morning. :(

The hit detection on enemies standing behind waist high cover or sitting down is so completely wrong it's not funny. Lost count at this stage of the number of time I've tried to shoot one with it a stun round or traq and it to be like shooting a wall
