I assume (and hope I am not wrong) that most players went for one of Kane / Austin / Giroud / Benteke / Costa.

Why? See below. I captained him last week, but decided enough is enough.

This is what you get for 12.6m:

    344167.png

Last game against 10 men was a disaster. You would expect him to be more involved.

Not to labour the point but I think you moved the goalposts a little there, his form doesn't really come into this discussion, you said you were hoping he did really well tonight.
It appears he's owned by 87.7% of the top 1000 teams (going by your position that's a decent benchmark) and he's being captained by 14.7% of those. Every point he gets will see you gain ground on the 12.3% without him but you'll lose ground to the 14.7%, what your own captain does doesn't really come into it. Anyway with those figures it seems like it doesn't matter what he does as it will all cancel out.

I seem to be the only person on here who doesn't have Silva, it's like Ramsey all over again, though there seemed to be far more allies in those days.

Last night after the games a great personal feat was reached, for the first time in like 5 years playing this game, i have surpassed all previous scores. I am delighted and in no small feat is it down to this forum, even if it is the "im not getting aguero in" debate.......

i am currently 180k OR and im delighted 59 with silva and guzan to go, for the first time since di maria in like gw 7 i have got the captain right for once and had it on Hazard.

So from me to you lads, a big thank you.....you may have just won me my money league with 120 points to spare, early to predict possibly, but i cant **** up THAT bad can I?

Ive about a 60 point lead to defend and I'm awful worried i'll **** it up

Great to hear that James. I'm convinced that the majority of work and friendly pay leagues could be won handily by logging in here for a few minutes every day. A bit of craic can even be knocked out of it if you get involved.

I totally agree, this is the first year i have been somewhat active on FSA and the results have been unreal, also the craic is mighty, personally enjoy the price changes watch thread the most....of course there are a few decisions i have made of my own accord, (bringing in kane after his unreal performance in the uefa cup back in like october) i havent got rid of him and wont. but if im honest some stick i got here for not getting aguero in made me stubborn NOT to get him in and that has stood to me too. so swings and roundabouts hopefully i dont destroy that lead but i reckon i have it tied up. I have been putting 20 points on the 2nd placed player for the last 6 weeks or so!

The advice on the FSA is second to none, we have great banter too :P

I love that Aguero thing you have going on, that can be the downside of the forum, when you've made a statement here there's a good chance someone will remember, obviously Ramsey and Yaya last year was the best example, quite a few of us snookered ourselves by our stubbornness and previous posts.

Totally agree copper, might as well pat ourselves on the back on a quiet bank holiday Monday. This is a brilliant forum with quite a few of the best fpl minds in the business. We all know who they are, no need to blow any individual trumpets.:p

I'm not going to lie but I never enjoyed this place as much as when we had the Anti-Ramsey Brigade and I practically singlehandedly took on Yaya for the whole season. And then we did a 180 and all got Ramsey in for the last few weeks when nobody else did :pac:

Oh and Mickey Turner too of course. If he ever graces the Premier League again it'll be such a beautiful thing :)

    Whatever that says about me!

This place is great but as you saw with Aguero sometimes it's best to make your own decisions as that is most of the fun in this game. As a self confessed aguero fan boy chances are I gave you some stick for not getting him in.

I think you are correct, and may i take this opportunity to officially thank you for your advice!:D

I did succumb to getting him in, and that week he played a total or 6 mins before being taken off injured lol.

I do find myself reserved in posting sometimes in case i get in completely wrong. (Got in Sakho 2 GW ago, not doing bad but he is going for costa if costas injury isnt too bad)

But then i find a bit like the betting forum, after timing is frowned upon! I really find the lack of "hahahaha @aguero/kane/costa captainers" refreshing, however 9 times out of 10 i think we are all roughly on the same page when it comes to captain choices, we really do have a stellar bunch of lads who give great informed opinions on all aspects of FF.

I actually think if you get your team right at the start and stay high up the rankings it is hard to drop too much, mess your team up and you are playing catch up. This site is great that if you are thinking of bringing in a player and others are building the player up/down that will finalise your decision, people planning ahead showing you who has good fixtures or a cheap player getting a place and doing well all help.

How do people spell the Spurs Danish midfielder Christian Eri~~~~~~

I totally agree. I used to post on FFscout but got completely put off by all the 'lol at Costa owners' when he gets injured, or the 'Aguero captain fail' 2 minutes into a game.

If it only it was as easy as just getting the team right at the start of the season! For some reason that is a massive weakness in my game every season I have a seven digit rank after a couple of months! If I nail that I'd win the whole thing I tell ya!!

Same for me I use to be on there a lot but it has just got ridiculous the average age must have dropped by about ten years in the last few years the old regs there are still good but it's got overrun with idiots just looking to troll I'll keep using it for the stats and articles because it is by far the best for that but the community is done with for me. TFPL even used to be good back in the day but that place is like an FPL 4chan now.

[Love in]FSA currently has the balance just right and I hope it stays like that for many more years. The records of a lot of posters here is exceptional too when I went through the people who entered the champions cup I was amazed![\love in]

I use my wildcard at the 1st international break there's no point in falling out of the running while still hanging on to it. I see this a lot in my private money league I'm about 110 points clear at the top this year having won last year. I also try to keep my 2 free transfers as much as possible. This forum has fantastic posters and I know that I wouldn't be where I am without it.

Sure I'm 200+ clear in my friends leagues not the most competitive leagues! I used to use it early but not as much value in it as previous seasons with the way price changes are. I have mine now but hard to really see how to use it well fingers crossed Liverpool win so at least that's another match for a dgw! The weather hasn't helped too those 16 match dgws are the ones you really want to see!!

Not having the fa cup quarter finals clash with league games for the first time since i can remember has made a huge difference in the lack of dgw teams. If liverpool are kmocked out you would nearly be better off saving the wildcard till the last gw at this stage.

Yeah its certainly not helped hope they have a change of heart in the future! Dam them trying to make the cup relevant again!! The mild January didn't help either normally been able to rely on a couple of grounds having unsafe areas around them. The last gw is a lottery I hate it! Really hope Liverpool win a Chelsea/pool dgw or arsenal/pool dgw should do.

I need 20 points from Silva and Aguero to win a H2H, so an early Aguero to Silva linkup would be nice

It feels like I need a captain Aguero double to maintain any realistic interest in the game for the rest of the season.

5 Star Aguero will be the heading in tomorrow's papers which he scores 5 tonight :)
