Couldn't agree more KCC, I'm out too.

Judged it on criteria that they never mentioned.

Changed the rules as it went a long.

At the end of the day we are knocked out because we were all fighting over far fewer positions. There was no point in interviewing hundreds of external applicants for so few positions.

    .

There is definitely a case for appeal. There are codes of Practice for recruitment

    They messed up.

Also I'd like to know the ratio of internal:external shortlisted as well as gender ratios.

As an extremely disappointed internal candidate who happened to pass the previous stage that others had failed but were allowed back in I too am gutted this pm.

To make it more difficult I am acting in a position with a no of years now and am so disillusioned now

Anyway just to outline that it is more than an internal external divide.

Sorry to hear that. We should all appeal on the basis the process was flawed.

Anyone hear of anyone who did get through?

Don't take it personally - I am a grade senior to this, have great experience under all the headings and did very well on the tests but not called either - oh external too!
Have to admit lost all confidence in this competition some months ago so not surprised and glad not to be having to consider what would probably be a wasted journey.

Results out. Not shortlisted. Can't believe it! I had an excellent form and am already operating at an equivalent level.

Any other external candidates get through?

I know it sounds like sour grapes but I put do much work into the form not to mention all the practice I did for the exam, which I did well in.

the whole thing was a major waste of time.

Sorry to hear of those not getting through.

On a personal note, my OH got word that she did get through on the external - for info, she is currently a public servant, with a good bit of private sector experience too.

My oh didn't get through. She was external. It's very disappointing that so few on here appear to have gotten through.

Plenty more fish in the sea eh?

Good luck to all with whatever ye end up doing and thank you to all who posted.

Hear Hear, good luck to her and hope she nails it, must have been a super good application.

I'm an external candidate but I actually felt from the beginning that the internal people who passed the exam were screwed over completely by their union.

Can you still be called for the confined competition? Someone from the LG told me that the confined competition was to promote people who have been acting up mostly.

Congrats to her. What grade is she in the public service if you don't mind me asking Larry Bee? I know a lot of HEOs that applied but didn't get an interview. I know one AP who applied and she did get the interview.

Well fair play to her! She's the first HEO I've heard of that made it through.

Has anyone received a date for their preliminary interview?
PAS said they're expected to begin on 10th but, who knows, that may well be delayed.
Just trying to gauge how much notice one might get.
    Thanks.

I did for next week, and received a separate email with board details, 20 minutes long.
Not sure how many are through or what next steps are.

Best of luck to those through, its been a long process.

    Hi, Three3.
Thanks for that. Turns out about 337 have been invited to prel interview. No idea how many will be put through to final interview - will depend on candidates.
    Best of luck.

Does anyone happen to have any update as to when the next stages of this competition will be or what the next stage will involve?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 Whenever wherever

I thought preliminary interviews had commenced? Would expect this to take up to middle of next month. Final stage will probably be an interview for each regional panel. All only an opinion though!

Yep, preliminaries still running. Results to be released sometime next month. If score is high enough candidates will be called to interview for whichever regions they selected.
Looks like it's going to take a while.
