I'll respect any person whether they are a person of a religious faith or an atheist. Providing of course that they don't try to shove their beliefs down my throat or claim ownership of the moral high ground. But now after hearing these latest comments from Wilson. I think it is safe to say, this guy is a complete fúcktard who seems to be mentally unbalanced.

Here's a guy who seems to have the personal number of God and seems to be talking to God all the time. Now I'm sure if Pope Francis or any other religious leaders gets wind of Wilson's claims, they'll probably get incredibly jealous of his very privileged status. Personally, I think Wilson is no more talking to God that I am as I type this. Actually wait, God is speaking to me right now....

"Hey Russell, why are you being such a greedy kunt? Shouldn't you just be happy with enough money to pay your mortgage and to cover your living expenses? Do you really want $20-25 million dollars a year in a new contract? How many homeless people have you helped take off the streets? How much of your wealth have you given to the poor and the underprivileged? My son, JC fed the people with nothing, he shared the fish and loaves from his basket. How much of your new contract Russell, will you be sharing with those who have nothing? Oh and why can't you find a nice decent & respectable christian girl from your prayer group, instead of someone who can't keep her clothes on? Oh and by the way Russell, I spoke the play into Malcolm Butler's ear because there was no way I could stomach a smug little hypocrite like you winning another Superbowl."

Jaysus lads that was intense. Wow! I just had to moderate the Lord. God actually used a lot of unrepeatable language there so I had to censor it a bit.

ya iv defended wilson on here before but the whole god thing irks me. i can only assume he is going to give his wealth away to some sort of charity as that is surly what god would ask him to do

and thats why he hasnt signed a new deal with the seahawks as of yet cos he wants to get as much money to give away as possible... yeah russell

Everyone should have faith but dont shove it down other ppls throats! He is very much one of the faces of the NFL and only he is on this seahawks team i dont think he would get half the press coverage that he is or if he was it wouldnt take it as seriously as they are - a la Tebow!

'Murcan God follows Reagenomics. Let that cash trickle down... from out of Wilson's pockets, as he deems fit.

He's not really. He's answering questions that he is asked with what are, to him, honest answers.

He sounds like an insufferable lunatic, but he's not shoving anything.

I'll tell ya who also heard from 'God'.

    The Yorkshire Ripper.

I love how Russell Wilson is a media darling and golden child who is immune to criticism.

That is, aside from boards.ie, where in the past 2 weeks he has been compared to a mentally retarded child molesting serial killer.

    Don't ever change guys :pac:

I could be reading it wrong, but this agreement between the NFL and Spurs for the use of White Hart Lane is a big pointer to a London franchise imo. The NFL now have their fail-safe should Wembley be clashing with Soccer during a gameweek. They'll also find it easier to sell out the less hyped games at a 60k stadium, thus keeping the 'successful franchise' bandwagon going. And lastly stops the franchise from calling Wembley home, and becoming their permanent tenants, which would enrage the soccer community

Logistically and for practicality reasons, I think the London franchise move is ridiculous. It would make better sense to move a franchise into the likes of Mexico. It's next door, it's convenient and with the fast growing Hispanic population in the States, a much bigger mass audience is already there.

Apparently the audience in Mexico is huge for NFL, and there have been suggestions of having a Mexico city franchise, but apparently the risk of kidnapping of millionaires, and especially their wives and children, is considered high enough that players might refuse to move there.

But yeah, Canada also seems a possibility, and there are loads of places in the US, like LA, Columbus, Vegas, etc that would be logistically much better options for an expansion team.

Wouldn't imagine there's nearly as much money to be made from Latin American fans than European ones though.

A successful stake in the ground here then also acts as a landing ground for the further invasion of Fortress Europa as well compared to South America.

Certain Mexican States are drug cartel dominated and very dangerous. But basing a team in Mexico city would be the safest option.

Canada should really be the first country on any list, but I think CFL politics could slow things down.

I think the Latino market would offer up much bigger profit margins, than any European expansion ever will. The NLF has a vast untapped market from Mexico right down to Brazil. Brazil alone, is another very lucrative possibility for NFL expansion. Latino fans seem to have readily accepted American sports culture and are much more passionate about it. You just have to look at baseball to see it.

I can't ever see the same level of support or passion coming from French or Italian fans. And the small competition pool of the Six Nations, is an example of market growth limitations. The UK and Germany do have have strong NFL interests, but I can't see any significant expansion/growth beyond that.

There's Mexico and Brazil, but after that I don't think it has any traction in any other country afaik. And in Brazil I'd imagine it's only due to the huge diversity in the population and amount of people there from other parts of the world to begin with as opposed to a more traditional following. People will only be passionate about something they have a reason to care about it.

Then add to that the complexity of politics and international relations between the US and some South American countries and how quickly they can change. It's still a developing part of the world and as such long term relations and stability change relatively frequently. The NFL won't be marketable (and may not be allowed to market itself) in certain places depending on the relations at the time, and that adds more uncertainty to any long-term growth.

Then the safety issues mentioned above, kidnappings of foreigners are relatively common in parts of Brazil, Colombia, Venezuala etc.

There's the status and trappings of major European cities that make them more lucrative, not to mention the fact everyone speaks English. Away days in London, Berlin, Paris sound a lot more appealing to Americans and the 32 owners.

The difficulty of setting up America football facilities is something which is overlooked as well. It's very expensive compared to other more popular worldwide sports just to get off the ground.

And the following thing I say without looking up figures, but I'd be surprised if the general population of the greater London area didn't have more disposable income than large Central/South American cities.

I just don't see a London franchise working. The Wembley games are great because there's a fanbase for the game but once you move a team there you straight away make it not an NFL game any more and instead a regular season home game for Team London who no one supports. And that's before the logistical difficulties.

I'd not considered an 'NFC Europe' Conference before. At least that would make the logistics easier if they played two road games in a row in the States and had three Conference away games in Europe. But then you have four teams who are going to struggle to get support instead of one. The franchise model is alien to European sporting culture.

C.J. Wilson from the Bucs also got a serious injury playing around with fireworks. Teams must be furious. His injury is very serious also apparently.

Yeah, I don't see one coming any time soon and not in the lifetime of this contract with Spurs. While the game is getting more popular in Europe, there's still no one localised area capable of supporting a team. And after that you're relying on people travelling from across Europe to support them which in effect turns every game into an away game for the "home" supporters and will find it harder to foster any real affinity.

London is not only capable of having one team, they could have two teams. London is the biggest market where there is no team and I'm including LA when I say that.

this definitely doesn't look good for JPPs career. also where does Schefter not have sources

Schefter reporting that JPP had a finger amputated due to the fireworks incident. The Giants had a couple of people fly out to him but JPP refused to meet with them and wouldn't accept medical assistance from the Giants either.

I've a feeling some anon hospital employee is going to get fired but walking away with a serious amount of cash

Whatever happened with that Dez Bryant tape that was apparently much worse than the Ray Rice one that Schefter confirmed did actually exist? It's gone extremely quiet on that front. Someone may have been paid off I suppose.

Its not implausible for them to see jail time for this, and the very least, a hefty fine.

JPP can sue that hospital for quite a bit money now, methinks.
