    God damn it South Africa!!

It was looking like we had to beat either Pakistan or India anyways, with Pakistan always the most likely so nothing has changed really except the outside hope of getting through on NRR has gone.

Surprise Surprise ...... Dreadful stuff from SA with the bat

SA need to get their team combo right first if they hope to progress deep in the competition

They'll be thankful that are playing UAE next .....

AB and Roussow bowling 10 between them is simply not on ..... That's like taking the mickey against quality sides

Hopefully this Taylor fella won't get too settled!

Interesting spell now - the spinners put the brakes back on for a couple of overs, lost it a bit, then tightened up again. Next few overs kinda important to keep pressure up.

Zim 19 runs ahead after 22 overs, so run rate not a problem. Hopefully the extra 2 wickets is.
This is an important partnership to break.
Taylor and Williams looking too comfortable for my liking.

True, but run rate is surely always more of a problem when you're chasing it :) It's all in the head.

Zim putting a few runs together here. We better be careful

    Good bowling change!

Next one maybe not so good! Kev is struggling.

Need to break this partnership up quickly

KOB undoes the good over from Mooney.
Still a long way to go for Zim

    Time for a wicket

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,729 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

I'm not happy about this at all

    Get Taylor out...

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Zimbabwe gone from 12/1 to 5/2 in the last 30 mins or so. A wicket could change that of course..

Runs coming too easy now. Wicket needed. Get Taylor and the rest will follow.

Lol I see the rollercoaster is in full flow here

This partnership has hit 100. Wouldn't be surprised of Taylor hit a century.

    I agree - it's like the UK media in here - "we're brilliant", "we're sh*t", "we're amazing", "we're going to lose"....

    Not quite

If they can get Zimbabwe out for less than 200 Ireland's NRR is around -0.2
A 25 run or so loss to India leaves it just behind Pakistan and if Pakistan then beat Ireland Pakistan will be through.

However the WIndies are also in the equation and again if they only beat the UAE by the equivalent of 25 runs with Ireland only marginally losing to Pakistan then Ireland probably go through

The first problem though is getting Zimbabwe out for less than 200.....

A good measure is to double the score at 30 overs... Looks like this could be a tight one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,917 ✭✭✭BarryD

They still need over 8 an over, that should be hard to keep up. It's ours to lose, this one..

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,553 ✭✭✭✭Alf Veedersane

Lads, f*ck run rate for now. Let's just focus on winning. This gonna be tight. We need either out now, preferably Taylor

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭booth70

Good partnership but relax guys ...... This is still too steep a chase for Zimbabwe to pull off with only one proper batsman left to follow
