Lads weather looks good all week.

A couple of us are meeting in Corballis, Friday for a warm up

Thank this post if you want to go.

I'm looking at 1300 hrs to 1330 hrs

Sun set is 1745 - so should be fine, it is a fast round and looks empty at the moment on time sheet.

Talk of a few pints - Malahide.

It is an open and normally good voucher prizes for Carr golf.

Will do - it is exit 4 off M1
Then onto r126 - By crossing over M1 and taking 2nd exit off roundabout on far side of M1. It is a double roundabout exit.

If you get to Donabate village - you are 5 mins away. You will see a brown sign for the golf courses away from Donabate - the courses out that way are Corballis - Donabate and Balcarrick. It is a fork at start / end of village (right) (onto chapel view /New Road)
All the way down that road past Donabate G.C - small roundabout - right at this. A par 4 par 3 and par 4 away (11 to 20 shots).

There is a back road, but maybe Donabate is safer. No it is safer. :)

Me Parlance Paulo and Recycled had organised to play a good while back - so we will be togehter other 4 together.

One of you better win it !

I've no GUI. I presume this would prevent me entering?

You'll get out no problem but you won't be able to enter the comp, just mark your own card and make sure they don't charge you for two's or nearest the pin in the club house as you wouldn't be eligible for your prize if you won

    Enjoy lads

Well qualifying is a nice thing this time of year.

Me and PARlance have a match so may not - but will see.

Just checked this evening - we would want to be finished by 1745 - but something wrong if we are not finished there by 1730.

Nice one Fix, I'll just tell the lads to aim for you off the tee as you'll be in all the right places :p

    Changed too much at once.
So, tell them aim at PAR Instead.
Normally a smoke trail over him too. So, helpful as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,511 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

Probably safer to aim for me. With Fix's new irons, OTT swing and the pressure of losing on HIS course... I fear he could be all over the place.

Yes with PARlance on a latent handicap, will be hard.

But great to take a pre. Tournament favorite out ,with game to spare.

    Going for everything.

Poor Paulo and Recycled in the friendly game group (lol)

There's only one person on here qualified enough to discuss Corballis, the king of the course, Mr. FixdePitchmark!!!:D:D

He knows every blade of grass in the place, or Sandy divot ha ha just want to know about competitions and stuff as it seems pretty old school. No booking system or results system online like howdidido or masters scoreboard.

We play them each year in Barton or Metro and they seem to have quite a robust club and membership.

The web site for the club with results etc is

Going to play Corballis tomorrow morning. Does anyone know if you can play off the fairways or is it mats? Also, is it a tough course for some playing off about 18 :(

You should be definitely playing off the fairways. I don't think they ever have mats in play in Corballis.

Chances are that, as an 18 handicap playing the course for the first time ever, you might have a tough time. Few very tight holes, and some tricky blind drives, so can be difficult to find the lines around the place.

FixDaPitchMark wrote a course guide somewhere on here years ago (possibly in this thread). It would be worth digging it out. He knows his way well around that place, it'd definitely be a help for you
