I guess Sky would take a pragmatic approach to it. Their bigger market is the UK and they are in this not to promote the game in the UK, but rather capture the Irish market there. So regardless of what time its on at, anyone who wants to watch it in the UK will watch it and will subscribe.

Likewise, I'd doubt the timing of this will increase or decrease the subscriptions in Ireland. Anyone who wants to watch GAA on Sky will have subscribed from the start of the summer.

Anyone know if the Fermanagh v Westmeath is on Sky Sports 5 which would suit me as I have a reduced Sports package which only has Sky Sports 1 and 5.

I can see that July 18 games are on Sky Sports 5 whereas the GAA games used to always be on Sky Sports 3

Look into a player called KODI, it's a bit complicated but sky sports etc. can be streamed free ;)

Triple header of football on Saturday and all look like they will be good matches as well.

    Monaghan v Tyrone
    All-Ireland SFC Quarter-Final, Sky Sports 5 HD (15:30)
    Mayo v Donegal
    All-Ireland SFC Quarter-Final, Sky Sports 5 HD (18:00)

Basically every game the rest of the year is on sky (barring replays which I don't know about) so that's me sorted and I don't have to look at Brolly one more time this summer.

So do GAAGO viewers get to choose which coverage, if Sky and RTÉ both show a game ?

probably no harm to mention that the ladies football is coming to the latter stages of the championship too, and theres live coverage on Saturday (possibly a benefit of the Sky deal that it leaves FTA TV for the ladies and camogie to profile their competitions!).
A local derby too in the first game

2 games. Not bad for a division 2 team.
